.....the Oilers have their foot on the collective throat of the Ducks team.

A win tonight would be a hard step downwards and a BIG step towards the final.

Flu be damned, crowd energy inspires the home team tonight...5-2 Oilers.

I'd say Moreau is due, he'll score tonight, but it hasn't worked, so I'll leave it to the hockey gods to maybe send some luck his way.

As for this talk on the radio about Smith being questionable....I call BS. He'll play. He's a warrior.

We need to keep our eye on the prize, 10 wins in the bank and 6 to go. One win at a time, evry shift, every hit, every shot, and every save. its only game three boys, lets bring it home hard.

Mac T said Gator is doubtfull. I wonder how many other guys won't be playing or will be 50% or less. Hopefully being at home and getting some rest will help, along with the crowd tonight.

IF Smith doesn't play it must be a pretty bad flu.

Tonight the Oilers have to play better. They're playing with fire by spending too much time in their own zone.

They certainly don't want to let the Ducks back in this series, especially with the health issues and fatigue. Another key game tonight.

With Toskala I was dissapointed to hear the fans taunt him with Veeeeeeesa. It sounded too rushed to me. They should have done the Tooooooskala taunt instead.

They dont look like they are willing to battle it out with a team that clearly wants it more. The whole Ducks season lies in this game, so you think they will come out gunnin. Still I take the Oil 4-2 and the city of Edmonton to go absolutely bonkers with this win.

So what's the story here, Iggy? The Ducks sure don't look all that impressive to me. Of course, they didn't look all that impressive in the first round either, but they managed to win that one. Was Calgary just that tight in the first round that they couldn't beat this team?

Never take Calgary when they are favourites entering a series. We always choke. The Ducks were playing better in that series for sure, I think this layoff has not helped them at all. To be a bit of a whiner however, we were only a crossbar away in game 6 to winning that series.

ROSTER UPDATES:

Edmonton: Radek Dvorak (lower body) is out. Marc-Andre Bergeron (flu) is probaable. Raffi Torres (flu) is probable. Shawn Horcoff (flu) is questionable. Jason Smith (flu) is questionable.

Anaheim: The Ducks are healthy.

http://www.edmontonoilers.com/gameday/ev030323/preview.php

where does that leave us and our roster, will they play, who will substitue in?

The easy answer is obviously Torres and Bergeron in for Horcoff and Smith. How the heck would the lines look? Horcoff would be really tough to replace.

No chancethe captain misses a playoff game with the flu. Bergeron and Torres I am fine with. Smith wears the C, he'd need a fully amputated leg to miss a game.

No way the Flu takes Gator out.

Both Moreau and Samsonov didn't take the morning skate. Believed to be the flu as well, but hopefully just as a precaution and rest, and nothing more.

Don't want to give the Ducks even a sniff that they can win this series.

Go Oilers Go!!!I had this emailed to me and I thought it was worthy of passing along.

The Oilers are my team, I need no other

They make me to lie down in front of my TV

They lead me to the quiet waters of hockey heaven

and restoreth my soul with every overtime winner

They guide me in the paths of comeback wins

for their name sake

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of

opposition breakaways

I shall fear no goal with Pronger backchecking

Roloson's glove and stick shall comfort me

They preparest a table of blocked shots and two on ones

in the presence of their opposition

The Miller draft anoints my head upon jubilant celebration of

another Ryan Smyth goal

Surely more series wins and a Stanley cup will follow me all

the days of this hockey season

And I will dwell in the House of the Oil forever

Amen
