The bot has pretty much checked out for the season, hasn't he?

Hemsky is out; Van Velde is OKC; Smyth is at centre; Peckham is in for Potter; Dubnyk starts; Good times are a distant and bitter memory; CrusaderPi will be watching some AJHL tonight.

East of the Rockies and west of the rest.

Well, at least they're rested. Been, what, eight days since they last played in Dallas?

Any chance of moving game day threads to the OT forum to allow for swearing? icon_biggrin

Thankfully, I'm going for drinks after work or this one would be unbearable to watch. Another shutout incoming.

Ralph Krueger says Ales Hemsky is out and Horcoff back soon. Corey Potter out. Theo Peckham in. Devan Dubnyk starts and Ryan Smyth at centre

This could get ugly.... uglier....... ugliest....

The Preds are a defense-first team. I'll probably have more shots of tequila than those 2 teams combine for the entire game. This could be one of the most painful Oil losses to witness yet.

I predict that we will be outplayed and out-shot.

Hmm, I think most peewee teams at this point will out shoot the Oil. Columbus which was worse on paper and made them look bad. Smyth at center? Yikes. I don't think he has the wheels for the wing never mind center. I predict a lot of passes into the middle where Smytty will be a few steps behind on the back check. sigh

So this is what hope feels like?

Any chance Preds notice if we leave town with Weber? Might be the only good thing to come of this road trip...

Game day prediction: Oilers lose 2-0. During the post game interviews the players will talk about how hard they tried and how they didn't get the win. I will, through the course of the game, drink myself into a comatose state and wake up just in time to watch them rinse and repeat the same BS against Chi-town Sunday.

When you get all set to watch the game, and within 10 minutes the Oilers are losing:

Here's another prediction: at this rate, half of us will be dead of either blood alcohol poisoning or liver cirrhosis before the Oil make the playoffs again.

It depends on how quietly they could stuff him into a large suitcase. Having enough money to bribe security would be another issue.

Alright, today is the halfway mark of the season - and amazingly, I'm leading the Oilfans score prediction contest!

Because of that realization (I should totally screencap the leaderboard) I'm going to say a 2-1 Oilers victory tonight.

The masochist in me is continuing to watch for now. Looking for any glimmer of entertainment value, some speck of hope for the future. I predict a 4-1 loss, which includes an empty netter.

I also predict more power plays, but all of us collectively wishing the Oilers declined the power plays.
