Just went back through my emails. This was the fourth since Tuesday.

Tuesday: tickets are on sale tomorrow
Wednesday: tickets are on sale now
Wednesday: tickets are still available
Friday: tickets are still available

Yeah, they’re pretty desperate.

Sadly, was not able to convince the old man to walk away. He upgraded instead hehe.

I don't remember the Oilers pushing mini packs this hard either. I certainly haven't heard of the non-rights holder radio station giving away a single mini pack in a long long time. I'd really like to listen in a season ticket update meeting.

This is fine.

We need an inside man (or woman) in the ticket office. Something tells me they aren't hiring though...

Bob pushing the 9 NEW POWER PACKS hard :)

I'm shocked that the Oilers signing Archibald and Mike Smith hasn't sold those suckers out already.

I don't know Bob, I think the mid week power pack with "C" level games will be the most popular. Columbus on a Tuesday, Florida on a Wednesday, and Ottawa on a Thursday will break up the long work week nicely.

Maybe StubHub should set up their own re-sale power packs...

Looking forward to the "You don't have to watch Lucic suck anymore!" ticket push...

There sure have been a lot of emails lately. It's nice to see it burn them a little bit. Maybe it'll finally make them a little more interested in winning if the city doesn't blindly rush to buy tickets to see bad hockey (and McDavid magic).

The released a Battle of Alberta power pack today, which is basically the "You can watch Lucic suck on a different team" power pack.

Thats pretty stunning. Those tickets are usually hitched to mid week non-division games because they are the ones in demand. If they can't sell the Oilers-Flames tickets, there is something really wrong.

Also, who do you think is responsible for the Oil Kings' success over all these years. It won't last, because it's cyclical, but someone has to get you to the top of the cycle, and we all know who that was!

The 12th or 13th best d-man that this team has ever seen!

2015/2016 - This Kool-Aid tastes like McDavid flavoured Drain-O.
2016/2017 - This Kool-Aid is starting to taste like juice.
2017/2018 - I'm drinking this Kool-Aid, in hopes that it's Drain-O.
2018/2019 - Another round of Drain-O, good sir!

In my area, high up in SEC 222... there are A LOT of empty seats.

The organization underestimated the intelligence of the OIL FAN one time too many. It took 2-3 years to address the lack of washroom capacity. Between periods the concourse is probably MORE congested than the old arena was. It is horrible. It is still bad but because of the large number of empty seats it is not as bad as it was in past years. And of course you are quite a bit further away from the ice than in the old arena as well. Season ticket holders now do get a 15%(?) on food, but would it break the bank to offer a 1$ or 2$ hotdog on the weekends? A few NFL teams see the need to give their fans a break with concessions... certainly the OIL need to do the same, based on the number of empty seats every game. That is if you want to wait entire intermissions in line to get your overpriced dog or burger (the perogies aren't bad).

Anyway... it is a myth that this arena is fan friendly. At least based on my experience in the upper bowl.

I've been hesitant to applaud Rogers for any of their food offerings but that Prime Rib Burger/Sandwich with Horseradish Aioli we got in the upper deck was deadly. I think it was $15.75 with kettle chips and as good as anything I've had in a restaurant so I was shocked and actually really happy with the price point. Add in the fact that my friend has season tickets and saved the 15% and it was probably cheaper to eat at the rink than a neighboring restaurant other than fast food.

I'll agree the food has been moving in the right direction. Still overpriced but i'll pay it if it's good and fresh.

I agree that the food has been generally pretty good. It's a shame they went with Pizza 73 when they wanted Rogers Place to be all about the high-end primo stuff. I miss having a Great White North and a beer at the game. The feature sandwiches they do have always been good in my experience. Rice bowls not bad either!

The upper bowl does suck sometimes. What's the deal with the giant escalator to get up there? There's always a guy whose job is just to yell at everyone to stagger their entry on the steps. One time he was yelling "women and children first!". I told him this wasn't the Titanic. It makes no sense!

What's with the escalators being down most of the time. I've been t the last 4 home games and the main escalated near ford hall has been down 3 of those nights.

The very definition of insanity is doing the exact same thing expecting different results.

Generally Disappointed.

It only works when the building is at 90% capacity or higher, it's operating costs are too high. confused2

What's next for the Oilers cost-saving?

- Oompa band replaces the music system for every stoppage?
- Lights are dimmed at every stoppage?
- Upper bathrooms closed?
- Beer prices remain the same, but for half-size cups?

LinkedIn says the Oilers promoted a guy to VP of Fan Experience (or something) recently. Maybe they're realizing they have some work to do?

This is fine.

That could be it. I notice they dropped the “full autonomy” bit from Holland’s bio.

You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you just might find, you can get a lottery pick.

Wait...does this mean he doesn't have full autonomy now? Or does the org now believe that it goes without saying?

Well, it's definitely not there now:

If it doesn't say it - what's to keep Lowe and Nicholson from giving their input?

I'm really just surprised they haven't slipped MacTavish back on their yet. Maybe after the Spengler...

I've been approached by the ticket agents since I was on the registry. I got an email that said basically today is my lucky day I can jump over the registry and get season tickets today. He emailed 5 times, texted me twice and called once. I told him this is where I want my tickets, he said he was unable to get me them, but try a seat hear and one 3 seats over in the same section. I said no.

I restated what I wanted. He said he cannot get what I wanted, so I said until you do don't call me. He left this little gem before hanging up, a lot of people are jumping at the chance of getting season seats and you're going to be left out.

I said in that case, I'm not interested.

The attitude is still there, they are just hurting a wee bit.

The very definition of insanity is doing the exact same thing expecting different results.

Generally Disappointed.

They're hurting more than a wee bit. Myself and others have been contacted during the season already to see if we want to upgrade or purchase additional seats. My friend with loge seats was asked if he wanted more loge seats, he asked where and they said there was numerous options.

They offered you two single seats that are just near each other? Who would take that? Are they offering a mega-discount for that? Why on earth would you want two seats that aren't together?

The Oilers haven't had to try to sell tickets for a very long time. Maybe it's good for them. The economy being so bad I am sure hurts but winning will cure a lot of things.
