Did I miss us using our time out earlier? We had to start that shift with a bunch of turds and hope somehow we can swap them with our good players?

I was thinking the same thing... Turris, Neal and Kass with 1:20 to go after Connor just walks a rope to get you within 1?

Same old story: Oil D are hot garbage and couldn't keep a 10-year-old girl with MS from walking in and getting a premium chance on net. Honestly, I can't really dump on Koski for those goals because his D are simply crap. No goalie can backstop a team if he is being peppered every night.

Dave, put Bouchard in- if he's not ready, send him back to the AHL. If he is ready and winds up being the answer, you are going to look very dumb for not having played him sooner.

Tip should be fired tomorrow ... After these roster decesions , not challenging that offside and then throwing the third line out. Brutal

I always thought that Tippett liked to emphasize defense in his system based on how the Coyotes played while he was there. I have no idea anymore what he is doing this season. The Oil need structure in their defensive play in their own end of the ice, because right now they are a freaking mess when dealing with opposition cycling there.

Seriously, what is Sutter doing nowadays? Maybe Holland can convince him to come to the team to bring some discipline to this line-up....

Not if, but when we go to a new coach it should be someone like Rocky Thompson with Dave Manson? Between Tippett, Gulutzan and Playfair I don’t see a terrible staff. The turnover rate has been ridiculous. The team has been trending up. The sky is not falling........yet.

When was the last time this team looked competent in their own end? I thought Tippett was going to bring some of that too, but we're still just all over the place and look lost for extended periods in our end. It's hard to not just say it's a personnel issue. These guys just aren't smart enough or lack the will to play fundamentally sound defense when it's needed.

Hitch is supposed to be a legend of defensive hockey. The guy made zero difference. May have actually hurt more than he helped since he was probably asking Chia for guys like Manning and Petrovic, supposed "cycle stoppers". Doubt he actually had those particular guys in mind of course, hehe. You probably just can't play the way old school coaches want anymore. Things move too fast, fast decision making by D to make good plays to get pucks moving the other way is everything now. We're usually icing at least 3 D that can't make a pass to a teammate under pressure.

BINGO

Then throw in at least 3 to 4 forwards a game that can't do it either, and you have what you have.

I think the non-challenge was the right call. I’m not a huge Tipp fan, but who do see as a replacement. MacT getting recycled? Tippett is not the evil here.

He is if he keeps on making stupid roster decisions like putting JJ back in, not using a timeout after his captain made it a a 1-goal game, and has his team collapsing like folding cards in their own end.

Yes, the Oil have had a lot of coaches come and go, but if the current one isn't doing his job, then it's time for a change.

I think he's made some mistakes here for sure. However, I don't think those are the only problems. The goaltending is sub-par, the defence is sub-par, the depth scoring is sub-par. I'm not sure a different coach is going to make a world of difference now.

We've had a LOT of coaches. I don't know if we really need to add another one to the list at this point. Besides, we'd probably have to wait two weeks before he could even join the team because of quarantine rules.

It's kind of crazy that Nugent-Hopkins has been coached by all of:
- Tom Renney
- Ralph Krueger
- Dallas Eakins
- Craig "Training Wheels" MacTavish
- Todd Nelson
- Todd McLellan
- Ken Hitchcock
- Dave Tippett

And with all that coaching churn, we've made the playoffs all of once.

yeah, just not a good team. And even if Kostko could give us average goaltending, he's going to be trending down now with the lack of rest. Season is getting messy in a hurry.

Turdis has to go, Bring up McLeod, this team needs to win NOW, not next year or the one after.
Khaira get on a bus to Bakersfield.

Man we have a so few forward prospects on the farm right now. Lavoie and Holloway will have prime opportunities next season.
