Supposedly, Askarov is holding many things up. They expect him to go between 6-10 and GMs are waiting to see if they can get him before making any goalie deals.

I heard Vegas has offered 1/2 salary retained and a 2nd rounder to take Fleury off their hands.

Bettman confirms the target is Jan 1 to start the next season.

I usually hate cheesy draft gimmicks but the Sens 1st pick and Trebek was pretty cool in this format of Skype picks, interviews and reactions

No off the board picks so far. Lots of the high end skill getting picked off.

Shoulda tanked one more year :P

Nashville can eat crap with their 73 goalies.

Again 3rd line centre on a stacked team playing against players up to 23yo VS. Top line player playing against people his own age. Also one guy played twice the games.

I promise, I don't have any skin in this game. I'm just trying to explain that he was drafted where he was supposed to. Just trying to bring some reason to this cesspool of negativity.

https://www.eliteprospects.com/team/452/univ.-of-wisconsin/2 019-2020?tab=stats

Alex Turcott (5th OA last draft) had a whole 9 goals. Hard to judge these stats. Looks like his team was not very good (last in their division), even with these highly rated talents sucking up the offensive ice time. God sniper Caufield with a whole 19 goals. Zegras who we should be hanging ourselves still about not taking last year with 11 goals.

I hear you - but even the panel was saying this is a third liner. Bob Stauffer apparently compared him to Marty Reasoner last week. The Oilers picked the guy they think is a safe bet to be an NHLer, but the guy in that group who likely has the least upside. Low risk, low reward.

If you were to decide to trade the first tonight, is there many third liners currently in the league you couldn't get for it?

Ugh...the Flames trade down twice, pick up two extra 3rd round picks, draft ten picks after the Oilers...and I'm not sure they didn't get the better player still...

I hope I'm wrong on this, but I'm not optimistic...

How about the Blue Jackets pick? Created some dead air time. SN panel had nothing on the player. They were fairly certain he was a winger.

Bob Stauffer @Bob_Stauffer
Oilers confirm they are keeping their 3rd pick this year.
Calgary will get a 3rd rounder for the Neal trade in 2021.
Wouldn't surprise me if Edmonton targets a D in 3rd round

Jim Matheson @jimmathesonnhl
How about big D Luke Prokop from Calgary Hitmen. His dad Al runs Blackhawk Golf Club.

It's a shame Matty never looked at getting into the scouting game.

This draft is dragging so much. Every time a team makes a trade its a 15 minute delay. The way it's going it'll be late into the evening before its done.
