I'm watching this game online on the Sportsnet Ontario feed, its annoying hearing Joe Bowen call Rexall Place, The Rexall Place. It bugs me the same way when people call Family Guy, The Family Guy.

Good pressure by the Oil in the final 5 minutes of the 1st and sometimes you have to be lucky to be good to get some to go in as in the case of Gilbert's goal.

Heh, I'm just thinking, wasn't that Brule? But you're going with the first names so if you meant 77 it would be Tommy.

the crowd's ambivalence when they announced his assist?

Yeah, on the streets of Meca Horcoff's indeed attracting the most negative attention. The unwashed masses figure they can't boo Lowe for the contract so they boo the feller who got three GW'ers on the history-making road trip.

Pretty sure that history making road trip won't get them in the playoffs. It also won't erase his horrid contract.

Please trade him now that he has some value. That goes for any one of the many 1/4 season pretenders we have on this team. I hope management doesn't think some of these guys are good all of a sudden and decide to keep them. Nilsson has shown he is not a consistent enough player since he has been here. I hope we stays hot so he can be pedaled.

Are you sure that's not an obvious exaggeration?

I never like to use the injury excuse but core member Horcoff's a hurtin' unit fo' sure.

Of course he is hurting, he must be hurting, obviously he is hurting despite zero credible info on the subject. He's hurting like any one of a half dozen hockey players on any team at any given time. He is plus 1 tonight and has chipped in an assist but in the last 15 or so games he has been either the worst or 2nd worst player on the team, no ifs ands or buts.

Then dont.

If he is that hurt he should take himself out of the line up and get surgery. Otherwise stop using it as an excuse.

An exaggeration? Probably. No more misleading than this though...

"the feller who got three GW'ers on the history-making road trip."
....As if he carried the team through some sort of epic stretch.

Horcoff's an ill, the biggest to some, of all that plagues the Oilers.

Three GW'ers on the historic road trip... that's a fact. Not prejudice or infantile-like ranting.

Is it? Funny, everyone else around the NHL seems to be clinging to the idea that game winning goals have to happen during the game to be counted as such.

In all seriousness, you do realize that shootout goals don't count as actual goals right? Even when your favorites score them.

It's all they've got left, the Boosters.

'He's hurt.'

Uh-huh. Okay.

He's been exposed. 10 is barely worth talking about anymore - there's nothing left to say. He has become impossible to defend, even for the Boosters. Gone are the days of 'he eats up opposing C's,' 'i wouldn't trade him for Marleau,' and 'he's a 75+ point 1C over the life of his contract' hyperbolic ridiculousness.

Dreadful player.

10 has failed miserably. That's enough for me. The Boosters have long broken up. It's over. No longer is this forum chock full of 'he eats up opposing C's' and 'he's a 75+ point 1C in the NHL' - that's enough for me.

They've got 'he's hurt' and 'he's scored two SO goals.'

Yeah, on the streets of Meca Horcoff's indeed attracting the most negative attention. The unwashed masses figure they can't boo Lowe for the contract so they boo the feller who got three GW'ers on the history-making road trip.

No one booed Horcoff last night. Sorry to rain on your parade, as I know you're hoping for the Oilers faithful to try and make a bad season even worse by tearing in to our own players constantly.

The booing happened when Leafs fans started their Go Leafs chants. They were booing to drown out the chant.

Dont put words in my mouth.

I have never once said that I wanted fans to start booing Shawn Horcoff or that they should. Just for the record, personally I wouldn't do it.

When the subject came up, what I have said, is that I can fully understand and appreciate why some fans might be leaning in that direction. And given how he has performed for this team as of late I don't blame them.

Ill say it again. I don't care one way or the other what fans do when they go to the game. Buy your ticket and do what you want (within reason of course).

Watching the RSN Toronto feed, nice job by the Oilers to straighten out in the 2nd after a first period that was not that great.

Edmonton got screwed on the blatant dive by Grabovsky (or whatever his fricken name is) where Nilsson got called. Awful call (or at least non-call on the dive). From what I've seen, Toronto has been getting the benefit of some not-so-great officiating.

Gord Stellick is an idiot. On the RSN panel he was commenting on how JDD has stolen the starting job from Khabibulin. Have a look at the injury reports, you moron. What a Toronto-centric tool.

Anyway, enough Toronto rants for now. Dive aside, I want the Oilers to close this one out.

Oh, and classy play by Phaneuf on Kopitar, just saw the highlight. When will someone finally send Phaneuf off the ice on a stretcher?

to the lazy, poorly prepared to compete Kopitar?

Do you really think that or are you confusing Kopitar with Frolov?

I'll lay into Frolov some other time but right now it's Kopitar who's the suspect one.

I accurately made mention of him when LA came to town and the situation has only got worse, to my understanding.

But, that's Kopitar for you. Lazy s.o.b..
