Eriksson gets his 1st of the season yesterday. Backes today. Looch is being left in the dust by his fellow 2016 UFA gang.

How many of those other guys have been suspended for punching guys in the head though? Not sure why anyone would be worried about goals and points when you have a guy who's that gritty and tough! Does Loui Ericksson make his team more brave?!?

For sure, the Eric Francis toughness ranking is definitely in Looch's favor. Lucic 34 PIMs. Eriksson just 8, although an impressive 4 PIMs tonight. Backes 16 PIMs.

Once the points dry up, you certainly can keep making a major contribution with toughness.

ESPN "journalist" and notorious Oiler hater Greg Wyshinski is at it again. In previous years, his excuse for not giving Connor the Hart was "How can a player that doesn't make the playoffs get the MVP?". Now he's saying "How can a player who isn't significantly better than all his teammates get the MVP?"

This is how we get travesties like that loser Taylor Hall winning major awards.

If Lucic is gonna score, this is the best shot he's gonna get

Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg
#Flames at practice today:

Tkachuk-Lindholm-Mangiapane
Monahan-Backlund-Dube
Lucic-Ryan-Gaudreau
Rieder-Jankowski-Frolik

Giordano-Brodie
Hanifin-Hamonic
Kylington-Andersson
Stone

Czarnik, Rinaldo, extra forwards.

Johnny should be mad about his demotion. He may just put in the effort to score a goal bouncing a puck off Lucic's butt.

The man is a coach killer. A cancer in the room.

I'm not surprised, they've been awful this year and were next level awful last night.

Do they win the Cup now? It's the St. Louis model.

I feel like we have the upper hand now in the deal, now that we all know Jersey is just a Binnington away from a cup. If they want our Binnington, they better pay up.

This must be what Dubas meant when he wanted Keefe to get the team to play the way they were designed to

Toby with his second of the season also. Oh well. Jujhar Hockey still has more goals than both combined. Also Gaudreau just tied Jujhar with 6 goals after his ppg tonight. Hall sits at 4.

Just the icing on the cake. Calgary won this trade the second that Lucic sucker punched Zadorov in, I think, game 1 :)

I think the clause is that if Lucic gets 10 or more games of suspensions and that is 7 or more than what Neal gets, we get the pick.

Goals in back to back games for LOOCH as he scored his 200th career goal tonight.

Lucci would have never gone on a two game scoring streak as an Oiler.

On pace for 5 goals!

2015/2016 - This Kool-Aid tastes like McDavid flavoured Drain-O.
2016/2017 - This Kool-Aid is starting to taste like juice.
2017/2018 - I'm drinking this Kool-Aid, in hopes that it's Drain-O.
2018/2019 - Another round of Drain-O, good sir!

He better pick it up and close the gap so we don’t have to give them that 3rd rounder.

You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you just might find, you can get a lottery pick.

Probably not a coincidence this happened not even 24 hours after the NHL announces they are coming up with code of conduct rules, a snitch line, etc.

I imagine all coaches are thinking back about past teams and trying to remember if they did anything that might get them in trouble.

"Snitch line"
I was already pretty sure of your character but this confirms it. Comments like that are why people are afraid to report real problems and terrible behavior is able to persist.
I dont subscribe to cancel culture but there some truly awful things that have been done in the name of "coaching" and people like you are part of the problem. Then again, I suppose this is just another example about how little you really understand about the sport or its inner workings.

I didnt play for him but had friends that played for Graham James. The story was always the same, his position of power made them scared to speak up. Maybe an anonymous tip line would have saved many children and young men from his horrors.

I truly hope that you nor anyone you love is ever a victim. You may be wishing someone would "snitch"

A discussion about whether the NHL actually gives a damn about improving things or not is a fair discussion.
Referring to those who use it as snitches is a punk move

I think we could have a discussion about what's the best way to handle these situations is fair too. Direct conversation or an anonymous complaint line. You might not like the word 'snitch' but I think there might be some problems with this solution.

There are problems with every solution. The Bill Peters firing should have happened when he kicked a player. Maybe this expedites the removal of bad actors.

Grab the popcorn - I think there's more news coming out here soon.

That's a heck of a statement from Dallas. Usually you'd try to say as little as possible about why you fired an individual.

Apparently (allegedly), nothing to do with the Stars, or any previous organization that Montgomery was a part of. Not linked in any way to the NHL's stance on abusive behaviour. Also, no criminal element.

What else is left?

Quote:

Nill said later Tuesday that he was informed of "a material act of unprofessional" over the weekend and launched an investigation. He added that the act by Montgomery did not involve any current or former players or staff members in the Stars organization, or any previous organizations Montgomery has been a part of.

Nill confirmed that Montgomery’s dismissal was not linked in any way to the four-point plan of action for abusive behaviour announced by commissioner Gary Bettman on Monday. He added that the league was aware of the situation regarding Montgomery prior to Bettman's announcement. He added there was no criminal element to the decision either.
