Best thing about this win? The secondary scoring was instrumental.

Time to shout Play La Bamba Baby! on the series. Worse performance of the series and we still win. Connor was way off the pace of this game today, but we didn't need him.
Shout out to Skinner also, yeah we gave up 4, perhaps a couple he'd want back. That last one was unfortunate, but he got right back up and made some saves afterwards when others would have buckled. Big part of that win for sure.
Take me home, country road

My watch said my heartrate the last 1:37 was at 139.
Glad to have put the Kings out of their misery, even the hard way.

Big games from Kostin and Yamamoto. That shorty agains was a broken stick from Skinner, it folded on his attempted pass, so horrible luck there. Skinner will probably check his stick frequently going forward. Otherwise, he played well. He can play better, and he'll probably have to.
Concerning in the 3rd that Connor didn't have much juice by the looks of it.
The Oilers had to overcome quite a bit tonight. Reffing was lopsided.
Oh and fack the Kings, fack the refs.
Beat Vegas. There will likely be 2000 Oilers fans in their building too.

Nearly 28 mins of ice time for 97 & 29 that game. Not surprising that they looked gassed.
CPuck going on and on about how the refs won the series for LA
Were they even watching the same games as us?

Kempe slashed Skinners stick to create that break. God, Kempe was such a pain in this series. The perfect blend of good and ridiculously lucky. Glad to be done with him.

What a win. Our "top 6" wingers had a brutal series for like 85% of it, but they also ended up scoring massive goals. Gonna be a great series with Vegas. Hope we can find a way to clean up the defensive side more.

I love the bounce back in this team. The tying goal was about as bad of luck as it gets but they just go get another one.
They will stomp the Knights.

I agree, I think the matchups and style will more favor the Oilers. If the Oilers can manage not to let guys loose in the defensive zone, they'll be fine. 5 games.

Stress...levels...so high this game. Couldn't get over that one shift where Foegele turned the puck over....twice..on the same shift in the 2nd period. Had to make life much harder than it should've been all game...most of the series as well.
Good riddance Vilardi, Fiala, Doughty, Anderson, Byfield, Danault, and Kempe. This Kings team & their depth reminds me of a more physical Dallas Stars squad with the prior being better defensively and the latter having more firepower offensively & a slightly more proven goalie.
Here's hoping Seattle gets through to the WCF as I'm confident about our chances against Vegas.

We play Vegas independent of the result of Colorado/Seattle. There is no more reseeding after round 1.

I presume he meant he hopes Seattle beats Avs, then Dallas.. meet Oil in WCF ?
Regardless, I think Oil match up well with all the rest of the teams left in the West.. to reach the WCF Oilers will have played the two hardest match ups in the West in LA and Vegas.. IMHO who ever is left to play us in the WCF will not be any harder a challenge.

Hey MJ, is there a place to watch the Oilers anywhere in Victoria similar to the Black Frog here in Van?
btw.. thanks for this site.. I first found it in 2006 during the Cup run.. nobody to talk Oilers here in Vancouver.. it was awesome.. good times ahead !

^Bingo...
Regardless of who comes out of the other conference semi, we'll have home ice for the conference finals.
Still gotta win round 2 however as I'm confident about this with Vegas merely getting to beat up on an imploding Jets team.

I hate getting ahead of ourselves on this, and I still remember 1991, when we got brushed aside by a plucky misfit team of North Stars in just 5 games. We'd beaten the Calgary Flames and the Gretzky-led Los Angeles Kings, 20 and 22 points ahead of us respectively. The North Stars had shocked Chicago and St. Louis, but really, they should've been at the just-happy-to-be-here stage in the third round, and instead they knocked us out and ended the Oilers careers of Messier, Anderson, Fuhr...
We face a pretty tough team in Vegas, and one of the few in the division to finish above us in the standings. We win that and we can worry about whether or not the Stars/Kraken winner is a pushover (although I bet they're not either way).

That series got so dicey, to the point where we needed a spectacular 2 periods + OT from Campbell, which got assisted by some wild lucky bounces, to avoid being down 3-1.
Kings seemed to have the universe on their side those first 3 games and a period. Nearly all their players were overachieving, almost all our wingers were just invisible. Our goalie was shaky, theirs was playing like Hasek reborn, our players were taking all kinds of dumb penalties, the refs decided even up calls were not a thing if it would benefit us. So happy how things turned around finally. So close to disaster and pulled it out. One would hope lots of good lessons were learned to be ready for Vegas.

Here's a little tidbit that is pretty surprising The Klim Ripster has the best pts per 60 in the NHL playoffs (of those who played 30 minutes or more) .. courtesy of Lowetide..
Quote: | Lowetide:
Klim Kostin, as has been mentioned by many here and on twitter, is emerging as the 2023 Fernando Pisani. His timely goals in this series (three!) were vital to Edmonton’s series win. Due to the fact he doesn’t play much in any game, his 5.22 pts-60 for the series has him No. 1 in the NHL in his category among forwards who have played 30 or more minutes so far this spring.
