The world lost the most special boy and an absolute hero last night. Ben, you were the best son we could ever hope for and you were my best bud ever. Your sisters were so lucky to have you as such a sweet brother. You fought so long and hard and beat so many odds.

This one stings. :`(

It was great watching the team embrace this young fighter last season.

Deepest condolences to his family.

Poor little guy. Really sorry to read that.

I'm glad he managed to have some fun with the team this spring.

This hit hard when I heard the news, I was hoping to see so follow Ben and the Oilers next season. With Los Lobos wanting to play at a game, only Ben could have introduced them.. We've got to keep La Bamba as our win song now, and add the clip of Ben saying Play La Bamba Baby to introduce it.

I can only imagine that in the great Oilers arena in the Sky, Joey has the seat next to him behind the bench ready for Ben, and our lost stars will treat him as well as our current ones did this spring.

I don't think he ever knew how much he touched hockey fans not only in Edmonton and teams and cities he visited on his road trip, but hockey fans around Canada and the world. It's safe to say that the Oilers will miss him, and all of hockey will.
Play La Bamba forever.

He still probably will, on the jumbo tron. And won't be a dry eye in the building. And I'm all for it.

Ben was a mighty little guy! So infectious with his little laugh. I love when Hyman had him at the mike after the game. Everyone was a better person & happy when around him. A truly amazing little dude. Rest easy Ben and play hockey up there forever!

Really sad news. You wouldn't think a 6 yr old could inspire people but I really think he did. I think he showed people that to go through the hell he was going through and still be so positive like he was, what excuse do the rest of us. I thought the team did a fantastic job to bring some sunshine to Ben and his family when there probably wasn't a lot.

RIP Ben, you won't be forgotten.

It would not be a terrible idea to finally get a ring of honour section, or a special area where the Oilers could pay homage to special people like Ben, Joey, Semenko and Cave who in their own ways have left a long lasting legacy in Edmonton.

Hearing about this was a running kick to the nuts for me. RIP, little guy. cry

20 days later and I'm still sad about it.
