....Curtis McElhinney will start in goal for the Maple Leafs and he has only been in four games this season....might be a good time to play Ellis, although Brossoit looked a bit better in Montreal Saturday night and a good game against Toronto might help his confidence...can't remember TMac going with the same goalie in back-to-back games too often, though....
....starting to like Khaira on that fourth line...not expecting him to keep up the points, but it's good to have a fourth line that can play in the defending AND offensive zones...Khaira's skating impressed me last night...
Go Oilers!!!!!!

Hope they do try Ellis. Just for the simple reason of not forcing LB to play back to back. Also, I would hope the team can rally in front of a guy playing his first NHL game.
Lots to make up for in this one. Last game vs the leafs was actually not bad, aside from the god awful PK, and the own goal.

I'm going to be honest here, I was prepared to sacrifice this game earlier today for the sake of the Manchester soccer derby going my way. That didn't so on my behalf I'm sorry but I want us to go out and put 10 past this lot. I need some thing sport wise to cheer me up, and destroying them tonight will just about do it.

....What happened to all that snow you were supposed to get in Manchester?...looked like pretty decent game-day conditions...too bad United couldn't bring their "A" game to such an important match....hate to say it, but City was worthy of their victory...

The conditions were better than they suggested our weather warning had gone down from amber to yellow. Saying that, if we get the same amount of snow a forward could create in front of a netminder, this country shuts down. Frustrated is the word I'm using about that match, it was almost like watching the Oilers play. Simple silly mistakes cost us.
Anyway back to the hockey or else I'll be writing war and peace, with a few words that might extract a warning in this place.
If opportunity doesn't knock, build a door.

Khaira was elevated to the third line to play with Strome. Texas Ranger (Skookum Jim's great nickname for Walker) was on the fourth line. Despite what Adam will tell you, Khaira is becoming a serviceable bottom six NHLer. In fairness to Adam he is seldom wrong. Nobody is all knowing.
I hope we buck the trend of having unknown backups play all world against us.
It appears the team has figured out they have to muck out some grinding goals, and can't expect McDavid to do it all.
I heard that guy with the pig nose that Toronto thinks is better than McDavid might not play. Game time decision.

NO MISS PIGGY TONIGHT....Damn! Better then McDavid....That's bold. I don't see the comparison. The kids good, don't get me wrong, but Connor is another dimension.

I definitely have been wrong on players before. I remember thinking Maltby looked like a plug, and that Brodziak couldn't skate.
Khaira's history suggests this is a hot streak and nothing more and we're more likely to see more of what the first 30 games of his career were and a lot less than the last 10...but if he's able to continue this, it would be really nice for the team. We've had almost no longshot winning hands for a long, long time in Edmonton.
