Survivor 36 was a quick three round affair won by Goose. Congrats.

We move right on to the 37th edition. Those rules again:

1) Prior to every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday I will post the list of NHL games taking place that day.
2) If you want to participate, simply respond to this post with the name of a team you think will win their game that night. Your selection must be posted prior to the start of the whatever game you are choosing.
3) If your chosen team wins their game that night you have survived to the next round. If your team loses, you're eliminated. Failure to post your selection prior to the deadline will also result in elimination. Note that the same team may be (and often is) chosen by numerous people--they will all move on or be eliminated accordingly. I would ask that you choose your team prior to viewing the selections of others (you are on the honour system here, since I have no way of verifying this).
4) Once all the games are done, I will list who has survived, and post the next set of games. Each survivor will then choose a new team (or the same team if they want).
5) We continue this way until there is only one person left. Should all survivors pick losers on a given night, they will all move on to the next round. If we get down to just two people left, we switch to a shootout format. The last person left is the survivor and is the winner. His or her prize is... well nothing, since we're doing this for fun. You will get the ultimate respect of your peers.

Things begin Saturday with these games:

Carolina at Winnipeg
Toronto at Montreal
St. Louis at Tampa Bay
New Jersey at NY Rangers
Washington at Philadelphia
Florida at Pittsburgh
Colorado at Dallas
Columbus at Minnesota
Nashville at Chicago
Boston at Arizona
Calgary at Vancouver
Ottawa at Edmonton
Buffalo at Los Angeles
NY Islanders at San Jose

Come and play! Make your pick by game time, Saturday, Oct 14.

Congratulations to Goose for wrapping up his three win victory quickly, so I could get back to what I do best: earning Adams.

Considering it is my Birthday, and my kids bought me tickets for the game, and they are paying for the hotel room and dinner that night, and my wife bought me the new McDavid Jersey. IT BETTER BE A FREAKING OILERS WIN.

You poor guy. I'm sorry the team no-showed for your birthday.

Happy birthday all the same. Hopefully the rest of the day was better than that game.

I want you all to know I'm not mad. My disappointment knows no bounds, but I'm not mad. The first time this happened we could consider it an opportunity to learn... and that's a good thing. The problem is, what do we do when the lesson hasn't been learned despite some very clear teaching? Where do we go from here? I want you all to take a long hard look in the mirror when you get up tomorrow morning. Ask yourself, "is this who I want to be?" Well, is it? You don't need to give me the answer, I can't change who you are, but you do need to be honest with yourself. It's not too late to change friends, but you have to be the change.

Twenty-eight entries this time, and a much better showing as eighteen will move on to round 2. Most of us that were eliminated thought maybe the Oilers could beat a team playing the second of back to backs, missing their Norris caliber defenceman, and starting their backup, but what do we know (Ugh still bitter).
