I'm actually happy about the shootout delay. Can't stand watching the faux devotedness of the Dys' faithful during their pregame festivities. I never watch the opening at Rogers Arena, just in time for puck drop!

LOL, what is it with the last player you'd expect on the team to do so to open the scoring? Nice play by Petry, though.

ZERO shots on net during that PP. ZERO shots and one goal against.

So sloppy. Need to get it together, this is just garbage hockey by us.

Is Dubs the worst starting goalie in the NHL? He gets my vote.

No.
Then I'll just regress, because I feel I've made myself perfectly redundant.

Love Hemsky, but he whiffs too often on those point passes from the half wall.

I'd still rather see him QB'ing the PP than Hall. That was a bad pass though...

1st period, about 6 minutes left-
Yakupov with 3 big hits in one shift to keep the puck in Vancouver's end. Maybe it's just me, but he looks like he has put some weight on since April.

"another long range goal on Devan Dubnyk!!!!". Wow Mark Lee, way to bring crap from other games into this one to serve your personal agenda of Oiler bashing.

Deflection off Petry's stick that turned it into a knuckler, followed with just a terrible play by Hall in his own zone.
Taylor, if you're wondering why you're not wearing the "C", just watch yourself on that play again, please.

Nuge can't come back soon enough. Hall just doesn't belong at the center position, at least not right now.

Yeah, but you'd rather either of the other 2 guys on that line making the attempt.

Torts just wants to try and beat Roy at a coaching fit?

At the game.
Schultz, Yak, Arco, Smid looking good.
Dubnyk, train wreck. Horrid goals every one of them. Wouldn't be surprised to see Labarbara.
Smytty doesn't look so bad live.

This is going to be an interesting period coming up.
I hope Gazdic is crafty enough to lay a beat down on someone prior to getting tossed. Typically when there is a lot of yapping, scrumming, face washing, hype and history etc the refs will try to keep a lid on.

That's it, we need a new goalie. Dubnyk serves well as a back up, but not a starter.
We need a real goalie.
And the comment about Hall not wearing the C due to his decision making, probably 100% accurate. He tries way too much.

If this game gets away from the Oilers look for them to start serving out some butt kickings tonight, again Torts needs to get his face and his big windhole flapping again. Looked stupid yelling at Eakins and Eakins didnt even flinch, start taking some liberties tonight boys. Fighting that sissy Kesler is a way to endear himself to the fans for Acton.
McDavid just might surpass Gretzky, Lemieux, Orr and heck even Elvis!

Yep.
As Carig Button said after the Jets game about Dubnyk's performance,
"that wouldn't be bad for minor league goaltending, that'd be bad for minor hockey goaltending .."
McDAVID! Oh YEAH Baby!!

I guess the positive is. Perron, brown, gadzic and acton showed some life and started to mix it up. There hasn't been much of that for years.

Atrocious period, déjà vu, score quick one, the bed...
Only true positive is that there's a whole lot of game left to get back in this one
