Wow, this kid might very well be the feel good story of the draft, especially if he makes the NHL.
"Third? Not third in the West, either? Overall? I think that... well. marijuana's legal in some areas." Whitney on Oilers being ranked #3 by SI

Maybe a late pick like Tom Gilbert (6th round) was by the Avalanche except on the tougher shutdown side like a Jason Smith maybe?
Good for him!!!

Same here! Reading his profile, sounds like the kid has one TON of character, and has progressed exponentially in the last two years!

Keep on Rockin' in the Free World
P. Chiarelli math.. T. Hall = A. Larsson, Yak= bag o'pucks (OK he got one right...) K. Russell = $4.1 M+NMC, G. Reinhart= M. Barzal + A. Beauvillier, J. Eberle = R. Spooner,

I'm starting to wonder if Stu MacGregor is from the future
Quote: | Davidson comes from Taber, Alberta. He currently ranks 5th among WHL defensemen in points. Oilers pick Martin Marincin is first in the league. Expecting a 6th round pick to make the NHL and have a career is not reasonable. However, 6th rounders do in fact negotiate the rapids and make it from time to time (Kyle Brodziak was a 7th rounder, Matt Lombardi too) and Davidson has played well enough to show up on the radar screen. The numbers say he's going to have a pro career, and that's more than anyone thought possible a couple of years ago. If he continues to post these impressive numbers, he'll get his shot. This is one of the feel good stories of the entire 2010 draft, and another Stu MacGregor bullet appears to have found its way.

When you get all set to watch the game, and within 10 minutes the Oilers are losing:

I'm absolutely blown away with this scouting team. After years of Mikhnov, Henrich, Riesen, Kelly and Bonsignore, we all of a sudden have Eberle, Gagner, Hall, Paajarvi, Omark, Marincin, Roy - it seems like almost all of our picks are excelling at their respective levels. What an amazing turnaround for what I felt was the worst team of scouts in the history of the NHL.
