Like that start. Stortini and Strudwick both drop the flippers 3 minutes in.
Please do not feed the bears. Feeding the bears creates a dependent population unable to survive on their own. Bears.

And to think that there's actually a fair contingent of "sweethearts" (as Don Cherry would say) out there trying to take this out of the game??????
I'm fired up and loving it!! That was Stortini's most dominating fight in the NHL... He TKO'ed Blunden, sending him to the ice with about 3 HARD lefts!

It would've been better had it been the result of Stortini putting Huselius on his ass in the Columbus zone and someone wanting vengeance on him. Granted, that's just as lame, but these setup ones with absolutely no context to what is going on in the game are kind of dumb. Surely the BJ's can put Oct 22 behind them like men.

I like how the Oilers are challenging Columbus in all areas of the ice in the 1st. Good to see. For some reason I've missed all the fisticuffs etc. though.....

Damn, missed both tilts! Stupid eastern time zone!
And it sounds like Stortini's punches were not of the variety of someone throwing punches under water. Allegedly punched someone quite hard?
Hope it goes on youtube soon.

ARGHHHH They are still freakin talking about Peter Forsberg! My god they talk for 5 minutes about him not coming back to the NHL, for gods sakes lets take about the life and times of Risto Siltanen or Reijo Ruotsalanen, they have as much relevance on the game these days.

Seriously... a 5 on 3 for those 'penalties', and now its 1-0... weak.

Liam Reddox with a quick breakaway as we went into the commercial break. That was the first time I felt we had a really good chance to score. First-line calibre?

I've missed stretches of this game but Columbus sure seemed to turn things around in the second from amount of play I saw.
Hemsky puts a puck on net on the PP with traffic and lo and behold it goes in. Will he learn? No. Horcoff hit a post on a feed from Hemsky on the same PP, to Horcoff's credit the angle looked a little better than the one late in the game against ATL, but still a low percentage play any time it's off Horcoff's stick.
I missed Moreau's previous penalty, but he was lucky not to get a slash late in the second. He's not gifted with a lot of intelligence out there, it seems.
Too bad Reddox didn't have hands. Last game might have turned out different, and there'd be a lead in this one.

I should have considered the "Rod factor" when listening to the blow by blow on Ched in the truck driving home. Zack did tag blunden nice a couple times when he was off balance. Well done. I'm guessing he feels pretty good with that showing.
OT - Something came in the mail. My wife just handed me a package containing Oilfans wear. I forgot! Cool....

"...the Gumby-like stretchiness of Matthew Garon."
Can't believe I just heard that description!
Blue Jackets use their time out because we're actually pressuring well.
edit: And our pressure leads to a penalty and a rare PP goal!
edit2: ...and then they do the same to us...

When will this guy stop killing offensive opportunities? 1 giveaway in his own zone this period, one near giveaway, and now a killed odd-man rush that could have been bad going the other way.
He's got to be way better. He's got the deal and the onus is on him to live up to it. He's not even close.

He is just horrible. Not only does he not help 27 and 83 at all, but more often than not he gets in the way and ruins things.
He is the anti-offense. And his D is average at best.

Silly fact I just noticed, since I have no productive or original way to pile on Horcoff...
the Oilers played in the Eastern conference in Atlanta yesterday, then traveled farther East to Columbus...and are now playing in the Western conference. Crazy! Probably been pointed out before too.
Going to OT...pretty good game, but still a lot of the same old from the Oilers.
Then I'll just regress, because I feel I've made myself perfectly redundant.

That was pretty entertaining, that OT was good action.
Does Nash ever backcheck? The guy must be goalsucking a lot, not just in OT.....you don't get that many breaks unless you hang out in the neutral zone a LOT.
