Montreal will be looking to bounce back after an embarassing showing in Vancouver. We should also be wanting to come out hard as well after that calgary loss. Toss up but i think the Oil will win 3-2.

Not much of a word on Souray from Renney:
Renney on Souray: "It's kind of day to day for the moment, and that's about as much as I can offer up."
If he's out, we can't complain too much as MTL is going through the woes of Markov out, Marc-Andre Bergeron in. A win and it's a decent 2-1-1 opening homestand, a loss and it's a dreadful 1-2-1.
After the Eskimos last minute/second gaff yesterday, that's 3 final-minute crushing defeats for our home sports teams in the span of a week...I'm hopeful we are due for a break.

Strange situation. If Souray is hurt and will miss tonight's game, shouldn't we have called up a replacement?
That is, of course, assuming that Staios is still on the limp.
If this team would rather play a 75% Staios then a 100% Peckham, I have to step back for a minute. I understand roster size, cap concerns and the IR and those all are going to play a factor here, but if a guy is hurt then he's hurt. Why not stick Staios on the IR for a week? What is he really bringing that we need him so badly?
I'm not a Staios hater, but I don't see the problem putting him on the IR for a week to ensure he's 100% before he goes back in. Gives us a chance to see a guy like Peckham and what he can do.
Why did Calgary host the Olympics?
So Calgarians could have a flame to look up to.

The Oilers' site is implying Staios is back and ready to go. Although I am finding thier info to be suspect.

I am not happy about day-to-day regarding Souray's concussion. Isn't that how Stoll started too?
I would also like to see Peckham get some time. He is a good physical replacement for Souray. I don't think he would mind too much if Quinn told him to hit everything in an opposing sweater and pound on anyone messing with us.
I really hope we get a game that helps our confidence as a team. I really thought the boys looked like they were starting to settle into a system last game, but we have had some bad bounces in the first three games. Some good luck would be nice, but I'll settle for no further bad luck.
I am looking forward to another entertaining game.

Habs/Oilers games usually deliver, entertainment-wise. I don't see why tonight would be any different. Both teams will be hungry to get back on the winning track.
High scoring game with Edmonton coming out on top, I say.

listen, I'm as pumped as anybody else 'bout the whole thing started, but tonight'll be special fo' sure!
You get that buzz in the building. Original six team and two franchises with something to prove tonight. Hopefully the urgency both teams display pays off!
Oilers by one! 4-3!

...but isn't Peckham just one game back from his own injury which caused him to miss TC?

Well if you want to do "research" and use "evidence" in your argument, then my logic flies out the window. Thanks for that. Way to point out the glaring flaw in my argument.
I know that sounded pretty bitter, it wasn't meant to. I just realized that I missed something obvious (Peckham's injury) and am now trying to save face.
Well then... take my post and run a find/replace with Peckham/Chorny and I think the message transfers over.

I'm not a fan of Staios and would love to see Peckham in the lineup...he would at least bring some more grit to the game....
Do you think Deslauriers will get the start?

2015/2016 - This Kool-Aid tastes like McDavid flavoured Drain-O.
2016/2017 - This Kool-Aid is starting to taste like juice.
2017/2018 - I'm drinking this Kool-Aid, in hopes that it's Drain-O.

Just fire at the glove. Price is weak up top. If O'Sullivan can hit the net, it's game over.

O'Sullivan does look a little snake bitten. Hopefully it's one of those where he gets one and the flood gates open.
Icechips is saying this from this morning...
http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/feature/?id=11009
Jacques - Horcoff - Hemsky
O'Sullivan - Gagner - Stone
Penner - Brule - Comrie
Moreau - Cogliano - Stortini
Smid - Staios
Gilbert - Grebeshkov
Strudwick - Visnovsky
Khabibulin
Horcoff and MacIntyre rule.

Come on Quinn. Get Jacques off the top line. He is completly over matched on it. Put Penner there. While you at it get Horcoff off there as well. Put Gags on the top line and move Horcoff to the second or third and use him against the other teams top line. So far I'm less then impressed with Quinns line managment and his using of players out of their element. Your supposed to work with what you have. Not against it. Also wouldn't this be a good spot to play Deslauriers. French Canadian goalie against the Habs on Nation TV. Kid would of been pumped for that.

Yeah I was under the impression that the Quinn said earlier in the week that JDD would get a start either on Thurs or Sat. Maybe I was hearing things.

Hopefully tonight.
Quebec kid probably wants to beat the Habs. And Montreal sucks.
