Would you rather your team is awarded a penalty shot or a 2-minute power play? Discuss ...

I'd take a penalty shot personally. Even if you're 1-for-3 on penalty shots it's better than most PPs.

They should get both. But under the current rules I think it depends on who is up for the penalty shot and/or how your team is doing on the powerplay.

Penalty shot every time. There is no debate on this. You have one clear cut bonofide opportunity to score guaranteed. Most power plays will not get a chance like that.

Penalty shot vs 5 min major? Then maybe you have something to think about...

I'll go with penalty shot. It sucks when you are playing against a netminder like Luongo or that calibre, but I still go with it.

PJ is a total tool, almost as bad as Strachan. And the 'stache? Looks like he's been drinking chocolate milk. When its finally grown in, like 2 months from now, he'll look like even more of a tool. And his reason for the 'stache? He says its in honour of Parros. He must have a deep feelings for the man.

Hmmm, so it's illegal to fight with a visor and it's illegal to fight with taped hands. How come these refs don't know the rulebook? Thats 4 minutes of PP that the Oilers should have had guarenteed.

I get back upstairs from posting here to see that Grebs scores... then I go put my two-year-old to bed, and Nilsson scores. At least I saw the Staios goal.

I really wanted Gags to put that one in. Would've been a great way to shut GM place up. But I like the SO prediction... that would be quite a way to end it. But I'd rather score 5 or 6 goals here and now putting us ahead for good. Better for the heart.

Good game though for Hemmer, he's putting a lot more effort into his play.

Awarded a penalty shot that late in the period on what's obviously bad ice...I'd rather have the PP instead.

If Refs can't recognize what coincidental contact is then they have no business being in this league.

Our PP really needs to get going...
2 games in a row that Garon has let in at least 4 goals/game

It is unbelievably bad. And not just tonight. All the time. The part that iritates me the most is that for some reason the refs are the only people in the league who are seemingly not held acountable for their performance.

The one ref Kowal is from Vernon, total homer.

Listening to another homer in Hughson (from Vancouver, and lives in Vancouver), as well as Crawford the ex-Canuck, makes me want to vomit.

People need to vent I guess. Our goals-against is really terrible. Be it goaltending or otherwise, we need to be better defensively. I liked the shot blocking tonight and it may just take some time our guys playing together. Who knows. Sucks nonetheless.
