I don't want to hear anything more about Greene's "problems" on the ice, he just stood up for his D partner. Good team player right there.

Sounds like coward...er..Cowan is in on the action. Of course, no penalty to the dys as the refs have some kind of man-loving on for the twin sisters.

Forget it, MacT will tell all his players not to take dumb penalties. It just bloody irks me that they let cooke hit people without the puck and no damn call then Hemsky gives the little puke a love tap and we go to the gate.

Then Ferraro lips off that it is a good goal and the oilers have only themsleves to blame for being 'undisciplined' Moron.

asshat "Yes I would. He is the kind of player that takes an entire team off their game. "

I'm sorry but I didn't interpret as you wanted Matt Cooke on the Oilers. But wouldn't mind "a different" gutless pussy on the team.

Well, another game without Torres showing up so he might as well sit in the penalty box for 12min. Too f'n bad he caused a goal. Doubt we'll see him on the ice after this and hopefully he's traded tomorrow. It's bad enough he rarely puts in an effort, but now he's proactively harming his team. angryfire

Oh ya, there's nothing wrong with the refereeing tonight....except Burrows is allowed to jump everytime he hits someone. Forget about Cooke, he's almost all legal, it is Burrows that deserves a thumping.

I would agree thas clearly "directed in with his skate" as the rule states. He saw the puck coming before he turned his foot, and then it went in. I wonder what the result had been had Smyth done that. Somehow im not sure it would have been a goal so quickly.

Questionable penalties or not...Hemsky and Torres CANNOT do that to their team in one of the most important games of the season. Whether or not Cooke is a pussy, this is the new NHL and it's not like he's surprising anyone with his antics. Only way to retaliate is via good clean hits...not dumbass stickwork to put your team down 2 men for 2 minutes.

1 Cup

the problem with the Cooke call is they could have easily called him or Cowan on a number of cheap shots but didn't, he goes after Nedved who is clearly away from the puck yet no call. Its the inconsistency in the NHL that sucks so much. You either call them all or you call none, being inconsistent doesn't help anyone...

the fact they scored their first two goals on a 5 on 3 ruined the game for me completely

So this is what hope feels like?

How about Ray Ferraro for coach? He seems to know his sh*t. You could tell he was getting totally pissed that the Oilers kept dumping the puck in and then just letting VAN send it up to the man on the half-board, and out.

No you may say: "No Mike, you do not need to be a keener to figure that out"....BUT THEY KEPT LETTING THEM DO IT?!?!?!?! Could the Oilers coaching staff not identify the futility in their plan of attack while the guy sitting up in the press box had it nailed down?
