Refs miss some obvious infractions.

Linesmen miss some obvious offsides and icing.

Not a terrible effort, game was there for them missing Nuge, Puljujarvi, Yams, Kass and Keith.

I wonder which of him or Louie are not vaxxed, since they keep doing broadcasts in Canada while team is across the boarder.

I believe this is a general health issue for the whole crew. There would be problems if anyone tested positive while out of the country. Although that may be changing now.

Maybe broke media companies have realized that their on air talent don't actually do that much and they just use road trips as excuses to take mini vacations on the company dime?

Oilers outside the playoff picture here if, when, Dallas beats Buffalo here today. Up 3-1 in the third.

It’s not too far fetched to think this team misses playoffs... it’s going to be quite the final 29 games for the Oilers

Makes one wonder where we would be had Motown canned ol Dave in January when they could have had piles of practice time with Woody & Manson…

In fairness to Hall, I've wanted to throw a waterbottle at Eakins all season.

And now the Oilers are in a stretch with something like 40 games in 80 nights so there's no time for practice between now and training camp opening up. Brilliant. All thanks to that one win against Calgary. Frustratingly shortsighted.

The only explanation can be that Dave was the top seller of vacuums last quarter.

I actually thought that tonight. I have to admit I never believed a coaching change would make a difference based on the roster.. but something has definitely changed with the team performance under Woody and Charlie. Can't pin point what it is, but its happened.

I agree...we look better, much better.

Which is why it blows my mind that we fell out of a playoff spot? Even Koskinen put up great numbers in FLA and Smith in CAR...and we lost ground! Stars and Kings are getting it together unfortunately.

The Tampa/Florida/Carolina road trip is arguably the toughest in the league right now. If I recall, prior to the Oilers trip, the record for Pacific teams on that road trip was 3 wins out of 21 games; Calgary had gone 0-3 on their trip through. Many were saying a 1-1-1 record for the Oilers would be considered a success. IMO, they had the Tampa game but Smith gonna Smith. So all in all not as horrible as it looks.

I blame the loss on Foegel.. two games in a freaking row where he takes a goal away from McDavid by putting himself offside to negate an amazing McDavid effort.
Lazy, stupid, play.
Dopey.
Par.
Don't want to see him top 6 again after Noog or Pool get back..

D. Ryan with another good game.

Bouchard still can't win a puck battle.

Nemo with another solid performance vs. big forwards on a good team.

Is it just me, or do other people see Bouchard actually NOT fighting for the puck in battles. It's almost like he pulls away and lets the guy have possession so that he can try to get into a position to defend against him. Does he know he'll lose the battle so he doesn't try?
I still think Bouch is going to become a pretty darn good player, but this seems weird to me.

Nope, not just you,.. and yes it is very weird.
It isn't a coached thing, because Nemo plays the exact opposite.
Wasted a year in Edmonton last season.

The guy needs a reset.. a cold hard boot.

A couple thoughts:

- man, the Hurricanes can whip the puck around in the offensive zone. Tough to blame Smith on those when the Hurricanes passing the puck around like that, at the same time I hope he doesn't play another game this year. Positionally, he just doesn't seem to be in the right spot on any of those goals, including being way too deep in his net on the one that got called back.
- McDavid getting a couple busted teeth feels inevitable given what the NHL lets players get away with on him. If they're going to let guys just hack him and interfere with him every time he skates through the neutral zone, eventually he's going to get caught by a wild stick. So frustrating.

Oilers Goal Differential
17/18: 234 GF / 263 GA (-29)
18/19: 232 GF / 274 GA (-42)
19/20 (82 game pace): 257 GF / 254 GA (+3) in 64 games
2021 (82 game pace):269 GF / 235 GA (+34) after 38 games
