Dubnyk is an average NHL goalie.

If you expect him to steal tight games, you will be disappointed.

If you think he's only worthy of being backup, you aren't giving him enough credit.

The combination of him with this immature team is... well... a lack of playoffs. If roster in front of him was better, he'd be fine.

He's no better or worse than M.A. Fleury IMO.

That's ignorant. He is SUBSTANTIALLY worse than Fleury.

Did you watch the series between the Flyers and Pens in last year's playoffs? Fleury is at best inconsistent as a goaltender and has to thank being on a team with Crosby and Malkin on it, not to mention a defense that is half-competent, though losing Hal Gill was a blow.

No way Rok. That series WAS terrible, but Dubnyk can't carry Fleury's jock. At his best, he's a top 10 goalie in the league. At Dubnyk's best, he's the 20th best goalie in the league.

Just to provide a little debate on a Friday afternoon, who are the 19 ahead of him, and what are the rankings?

WAAAAHH people complaining about Dubnyk? Seriously? Great two bad goals, it's unfortunate but for all the shots he faces I'm surprised he hasn't made even more of these mistakes......He's definitely keeping us in the game...wanna be mad at someone be mad at this pathetic offense....SHOOT ALREADY!

I agree about Dubs, but only insofar as to say that he's far from the only reason that this game is going into the toilet. It's a team game, and the rest of the team has hardly been lights-out tonight, mainly because the concept of "keeping it simple" is proving to be too complicated for them to grasp.

Seriously, I want the front office and coaching staff scoured after this season even if the team makes it to the playoffs by some miracle. They're not moving another inch forward unless this happens.

He also threw the puck on net. Who knew that could lead to goals? Time for Freddy to bench him before the rest of the team gets wise to the idea. icon_rolleyes

I really hope Hall develops that viscious side to his game. I love to see that "you're gonna pay for that" attitude. Go out fighting guys. Make em bleed.

Maybe if they had played like this from the first puck drop, they would have smoked these guys.

Man. Yak has been carrying his line all night in the offensive end and gets rewarded. One bright spot tonight. Kid line looks like they've woken up in the 3rd as well. Hopefully can get another one.

It's all good. Krueger can just continue to hang back and let Phoenix get whatever match up they want and let Hanzal try to get Hall back for the rest of the night.

And this is why I boom everytime I read a media-type write that Yakupov should be the trade bait to get what this team needs.

He might be the most talented of the bunch.

I think Smithson + Hall is a bad luck pair.

Good spirit, but the oilers should have had it for 60 minutes, not the final 10. No one to blame but themselves.

Hall played scared after the whole incident...where was MIKE BROWN??? Not doing his job thats for sure...so annoyed right now by the penalties that weren't called and the one's that were in those last 5 minutes...Dubes let up some softies but stopped a lot of shots that are for sure goals...i'm not mad at him just mad this team showed up so late and played intimidated...Yaks didn't take crap and neither did Smid...

Should have won this game

Adam Larsson 23
RNHopkins 23
Nail Yakupov 22
Oscar Klefbom 22
Darnell Nurse 21
Leon Draisaitl 20
Connor McDavid 19
Jesse Puljujarvi 18

The future looks bright...
