I don't think Tippett is McLellan, not even close but given how some fans and bloggers talk about this line, you'd think they invented hockey. So if this line doesn't come out lighting the world on fire from shift 1, I will be disappointed.

I'm really unsure on your stance regarding this line, but it is consistent. Is it just me, or wasn't this trio the best line in hockey before the league shutdown nearly a year ago? What do you see differently?

It sure was. What stance do I apparently have that I am missing here?

I have heard and read 100's if not a 1000 times how amazing that line is. I've heard people rant about it many, many times. I have heard and read multiple stats people quote all kinds of numbers on how amazing it was. You just reminded me again how great it was. Everywhere I look I am told of their greatness so why shouldn't I have sky high expectations?

You have a dozen or so posts about that seem to making fun of fans wondering why this line hasnt had a chance.
An equal number that come off as sarcastic and implying that if they arent the best line in the NHL from the very first shift than the fans are wrong, Tippett was right keeping them apart and they are a failure.

The last few days of your posts have obsessed with this topic. For you to question "What stance do I apparently have" is pretty funny given your recent history on the subject.

Overall it is right on brand for you though. The Oilers are right, the fans are wrong and anyone questioning them is an idiot. If nothing else you are consistent.

Anyway, given the recent lack of production from the entire team I dont see an issue with re-uniting this trio. Hopefully it sparks something because the team as a whole has been pretty awful the last two games.

Tipp gave his boy Russell his token couple of games for trying hard in practice. Maybe next time the Oilers can just hire some refs and let Russell pick whatever teams jerseys he wants half the team to wear in their next scrimmage to give him that "game" action. Let Russell either be himself or put on whatever jersey he wants to be from the NHL.

Have any teams ever had three straight shutouts with three different goalies?

That sounds like the type of record the oilers would make a real push for

So did Tippett fire a text off to McD, Leon and Nuge to remind them there is a game tonight and what time. Maybe they didn't put the last 2 games in their outlook calendar. I always tell everyone, if it's not in my calendar, it doesn't exist. Have the secretary send them a meeting request for tonight at 6 pm. They seem to have got their days mixed up and forget to show up the last 2 games.

Hey, no judgement here. Things get busy, it happens.

Buffalo is fascinating. I read on Twitter the other day that Tobias had more goals than Eichel, Hall & Skinner combined, and I had to go check because I didn't believe it.

Eichel has never scored less than 24 goals in his career, and he's on pace for 9 in an 82 game season.

Skinner is 2 years removed from a 40 goal season and has 0 this year.

And, while Hall has never been a huge goal scorer other than his MVP year, he's only got 1 in 20 games (he had 10 in 35 games in ARI last year).

Just an absolute disaster.

Oilers Goal Differential
17/18: 234 GF / 263 GA (-29)
18/19: 232 GF / 274 GA (-42)
19/20 (82 game pace): 257 GF / 254 GA (+3) in 64 games
2021 (82 game pace):269 GF / 235 GA (+34) after 38 games

Nice to see a Reinhart finally live up to the hype a bit though. 8-7-15 in 18 games.

Skinner with 0 goals and 1 point in 17 games, lol. Not sure I can think of a better example of a guy mailing it in after getting his retirement contract.

Poor Krueger already getting hated on. Along with getting COVID. At least he's being paid well.

With the Oilers playing the same teams over and over I have even less of a window into the rest of the league than usual. The last bit I have been in my car more than usual for work and listening to a lot of NHL radio.
They had an entire segment on them, their lack of success and a pile of stats. It was pretty amazing just how bad they have been. They are on track for a pile of epic ineptitude benchmarks.

More and more talk that Eichel pulls an attitude on a regular basis regarding personnel, both teammate, bench bosses and front office. All of the talking heads figured an ugly divorce was on the horizon.
