Looking at their situation & I believe it becomes fairly obvious that they need some future assets for some older players to start to re-jig their team for the future.
Players they might look to move….Frederic, Marchand, Geekie & Brazeau to name some UFA’s. I would love to have Carlo, but highly doubt Bruins are too eager to move him (top 4 RD, 28 yrs old, making a near $4.1 Million for 2 more yrs in a large rising cap).
My thoughts on a potential trade….
Frederic (half retained salary) $1.15 Million cap hit
For
J. Skinner (would need to waive NMC) $3 Million cap hit & 2026 2 rd pick
I know a 2nd is a bit of an overpay, but we would get out of LTIR and get a really good 3rd liner who is big, can skate well and is physical/tough. We really need that type of player IMO and the added cap accrual would be great for future trade deadline additions. Bruins may do this to get a 2nd rounder vs the 3rd pick that is rumoured to be offered for Frederic right now. Pundits say they want a 2nd for him and that gets it done and a player thet can potentially use in their top 6.

If you're going Bruins, why not go big and try for Marchand. Last year of his contract, has a no-trade, Bruins just below the playoff cut-line. If the Bruins held 50%, then he's only a hair over $3MM for cap hit. Involve a third party and he's now only $1.5 leaving you room to spend on something else...
Maybe send them Evander Kane and a pick for their troubles.

Marchand and Perry on the same team, along with McDavid? The league will absolutely HATE us on another level. I’m all for it.
