It would appear that the 3rd line is doing a lot of the rowing lately, and it can be said Derek Ryan is on a bit of a heater. Nice.

I wonder if the move to the other wing has been a major factor there?
Did he hate Tippett?

Getting minutes and engaged. Maybe that's key to get guys feeling part of the effort.

Could very well be. It is only a few games but the team does look better right now.
I am borderline obsessed watching the TOI and line deployment during the game. It is fascinating how different it is than Tippett.
Tonight Ceci leads all D in TOI. Partially because of the Oilers penalties was to Nurse, and the team has a couple injuries but that is new.
I think he has played well in a steady role most of the year but has sure been thrust to the front in the last week.

Ryan's confidence must have been shattered too. Guy couldn't get through a few shifts before being scored on. And Tippett is really good at making it clear to guys he is done with them.
Nuge has been playing great too of course. First time we have been able to give him quality linemates in a 3rd line role.

Nuge absolutely on fire. It's interesting because he's being asked to lead a line rather than just ride shotgun and he's looking way better than he was as the extra guy with McDavid or Draisaitl.

I bet he would look great on the wing with either of those guys too the way we are playing, but finally having a 3rd line is spectacular too. And good 2-way players on either side of him. Haven't seen such a thing on this team in a long time on a 3rd line.

I will say, that Trevor Zegras kid would look pretty good in our top six...*troll*
