Happy the NHL, and Canada, will go to the Olympics, for the players, as well as all the other athletes.. but absolutely disgusted the IOC chose China to host in the first place. With China's history of systemic human rights abuses, invasion of and take over of Tibet, ongoing genocide of the Uyghur people, not to mention the kidnapping, show trial, and holding for ransom of Canadian citizens, China should never be hosting any international event, by any organization, that pretends to support human rights and world peace.
But, based on the history of the IOC, all the way back to its support of Nazi Germany, one should not be surprised, the IOC licks the boots of the CCP for cash. The IOC is one reason they invented Swiss bank accounts.
I'd love to see the Canadian team march into the Olympic closing ceremonies carrying banners saying "Stop the Genocide, Free the Uyghur People", and/or "CCP.. Free Michael Kovrig - Free Michael Spavor"

In the IOC’s defence, China bribed them pretty heavily and it’s rude to not award the Olympics to the people that pay you the most.
