It's an interesting strategy by Tippett here. Turris has been disappointing all season long, so let's try promoting him up the lineup in a game against the best second line in the division. I'm curious to see how the gamble plays out.
We do need to see a little more from that second line. Not just less goals against, but more attacking and chances. It definitely is the one issue with loading up the first line - but even so, we should have adequate depth that we're not just struggling to hold on whenever the first line is off the ice.
Toronto is a strong, deep team, but it's not just them. The team has had several stretches of multiple games where no one outside the top lines scores any goals. We need someone else to chip in a little.

I don't like that 2nd line but more because of its potential complete lack of game management ability. The Oil can get enough offence out of Connor and Drai as they demonstrated last game- the problem was keeping the Leafs' O neutralized for the ENTIRE game instead of just the first 2 periods and part of the 3rd.
Does Holland just go out and try to trade for a guy who can solidify the 2nd line and increase the overall depth down the 3rd and 4th lines?

If the team wants to keep McD and Leon together, then Holland has to go out and find a winger who can on his own turn Nuge into a decent 2nd line center. In order for Nuge to be a decent 2nd line center, you need a winger who can drive a line and basically do the majority of what a center is supposed to do. I don't even know who that winger is, what would be the cost to get him and if it's even possible? Some people might bring up Hall but I am not so sure he's that guy anymore and how do you fit 8 mill?
