It is great. He will be playing rather than sitting at home waiting to see what happens.

I agree, it’s a great league to send a younger player to work on their skill set. And it’s possible to forecast NHL production based on how they do over there.

He better be a 6/7 guy when he comes back after playing in that sub-standard league!
Also I wonder if there's a Swedish Don Cherry that is going to crap all over these Canadian players coming over and taking jobs in their league...

True enough the league Bouchard is playing in in Sweden is way below probably even the ECHL, but at least he's playing and staying in shape. And scoring some beauty goals.

Obviously he wouldn't be able to pull of this McDavid-esque maneuver against NHL teams too often, but the kid sure has some shifty natural moves.

A reporter who covers the Swedish leagues was on Stauffer's show yesterday and said the league Bouchard is in would be equivalent to lower end AHL teams. The big thing is he is playing, staying in shape and working on his game.
