Benson played a helluva game. The kids a top 9 NHL player with room to improve.

I wanted to take that Burger Bet with Adam about Benson not ever being a 25 point guy in the NHL but I’m sure I’ve made tons of burger bets and haven’t followed through. Message him and see if he still will make it!

Pretty sure my point with Benson was that I don't see him as a top-6er in the NHL, although who knows - I would love to be wrong about that. He's closer to it than a lot of others we've tried there...I'll give him that. He's no Lennart Petrell!

I don't know but I still contend that Benson was the steal of his draft. If he can work on his foot speed he is a top 6, but so far he doesn't look too far out of place most times.

Yeah, if I had that draft to do over, I'm leaving Benson behind and picking the NHL-ready guy who's got a demonstrated chemistry with Connor McDavid. It's early, but it looks like the Blackhawks have a pretty good chance at having won that round. The current tally on NHL points is 165-1...although to be fair, there were 6 more players picked between Benson and DeBrincat...the most productive of whom (so far) is Jordan Kyrou with 3-5-8...so we could have done worse.
