Holland probably sees himself in Keith Gretzky, an amateur scout who worked his way up. Took lots of heat suggesting Gretzky be next Oiler GM before Holland came free but Holland certainly sees his value.
He insisted Kretzky was GM material. Kretzky didn't become GM, but since he became AGM, it means Matty was right that he was GM quality. Apparently...

Called out Dreger for releasing something that Matty didn't deem breaking news worthy (even though Dreger just presented it as an update on a previous storyline he commented on)
Calling that Keith was absolutely NHL GM material, and totally vindicated when Keith kept his assistant GM job.
Matty is coming back!
