One thing I found interesting when I heard Gretzky interviewed today was when he was asked about Yamo, KG came right out and said he was rushed and should have spent the whole time in the AHL instead of getting yanked up and down. Kind or sounds like there was some disagreement on a few things between he and his former boss Chia.

Either that or it's just so painfully obvious now that to say anything else would look ridiculous. I mean, he still doesn't weigh 160 lbs, and he's posted 1-4-5 in 26 NHL games despite playing most of that with McDavid or Draisaitl...so it's not exactly an easy move to defend in retrospect - whether he agreed at the time or not.
Don't tell me you really believe that Chiarelli was the only one in the Oilers management group who thought it a good idea to "sell hope" by spotlighting top draft picks with extended NHL auditions at 18 and 19 years of age...
