Have also seen almost nothing out of Reider that would make me want the Oilers to keep him around and that's a pretty big sample size at game 52. Absolutely. It’s really a waiting game till Klefbom is back so that they can put him back with 97/29 and have Darnell with Nuge and who else for the time killer so 97/29 can catch their breath.

Pretty incredible that this team has degraded to the point where you're hard-pressed to come up with who should be the fourth forward on the ice during overtime, and your second powerplay unit doesn't have a guy with more than five goals on it 50+ games in to the season. For crying out loud, Zack Kassian, despite a pretty rough campaign overall is currently 5th in goals on the team with 6...And it's looking unlikely we'll have more than 5 or 6 guys with double digits at the end of the year.

This weekend has to be seen as a disaster for the Oilers. I know people like to throw out the cliche about going .500 on the road, but since the invention of the Bettman point, that's not really accurate. If you take only half the points, you're losing ground. These were two winnable games that the team was in a position to win, and they snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. The next ten days probably decides the management's direction for this season - and after this, it's hard to feel that the team is going to be able to really challenge for a post-season berth...
