So, are ticket renewals seriously about to happen? Lots of the super expensive seats that were on 3 year contracts expiring?
Are people and businesses in AB finally going to be wise with their money after 3 years of the oil and gas industry being hammered?

Even with the industry in woes, some exec will find an excuse to keep buying them so they can keep their bragging rights and status. We live in an era where executives give themselves massive bonuses as companies crash down in flames bankrupt.

I think it's a lot closer to happening than you think. My company, who is a rather larger Oilers sponsor, was on a knife's edge about renewing their seats and advertisements this summer. The economy hasn't gotten better and the team hasn't gotten better. Is anyone actually getting value for their ticket / ad dollar?

Betcha they still do. People are suckers and it only takes one moment of weakness to sign the cheque. Just one little ounce of hope that this is the year they finally take a step forward. Cha-ching.

Yeah probably. I guess I'll just prepare for another round of summer layoffs to pay for them.
