Not a bad period overall. They looked a little tight to start with but settled down about midway through the period. Lots to like from a physical, energy and speed POV. Smith made some good saves and cant really be blamed for either goal.
Hopefully that late goal gives them a boost in momentum and they can put the peddle down.

I don’t know. I didn’t like much of the 20 minutes at all.

As much as I have been critical of Smith, it would be 5-1 right now if the other guy was in nets. I’m doing a wet hair flip for Schmiddy tonight.

Annoyed how fast LA was able to retool. Montreal is stupid for letting Danault go.

We should still be able to win this though. Hopefully settle in more in the 2nd and the tension is off.

Not the best of starts, but on the bright side we've got McDavid, Draisatl and Kane on the same line now (18:30 into Game 1)...and they've already got one!

Did Draisaitl shoot from the wrong side of the ice twice on that power play? Did the Oilers mix something up intentionally for the playoffs or did those shot develop organically?

There is so much to love about a small guy who turns it up in the playoffs. I expect guys like Kane and Drai to thrive when it gets physical but seeing Yamo fighting for every inch is awesome.

Flustered. But, still trying. Hopefully can start keeping up better. Seeing people wanting McLeod lifted up, but I think we need our depth lines pushing too and McLeod is a big part of that tonight.

It really bugs me when a guy in the second row leans over the guy in the front row to bang on the glass. It's almost as bad as standing up, turning around and waving to the camera when the play is on.
