I think if he had of done it early in the game, they would have deemed the penalty time served but since it was at the end of the game, they felt they needed to do something.

Always think of this 10k fine worthy play when I think of totally pointless crosschecks

Yeah NHL Corp Ministry of Safety at work.. classic.

I am just totally a homer? Or does it seem that the NHL's frustrating inconsistency seems to be consistently stacked against Oilers? E.g. - Benn's far-more-egregious cross-check is not suspended at all, despite being (a) for all intents and purposes after the game is over; (b) causing an injury [and a chronic, eventually-career-ending one at that]; and (c) not even remotely a hockey play. Yet Chiasson gets a game. Ditto, Nurse gets 3 games for pummeling Roman Polak; similarly, Kassian gets 2 games for rag-dolling Tkachuk - despite the fact that both opponents are (generally) willing pugilists in their own right. Yet Roussel gets nothing for attacking Puljujarvi. I dunno ... sometimes I think I'm a homer. Other times I think they're out to get me.

At the very least, the absolute raving inconsistency is mind-boggling.

They are consistently inconsistent, you’re not wrong.

You're not imagining things, its a thing, OIlers get the maximum suspension usually beyond previous precedented rulings.. opposing get league minimum or nothing.

Are you suggesting Connor McDavid wasn't headhunting back when he got suspended? We all know he's out there looking for blood every shift.

You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you just might find, you can get a lottery pick.

He's an unhinged wolverine with emotional control issues. We all know it, but it's hard to admit.

Please do not feed the bears. Feeding the bears creates a dependent population unable to survive on their own. Bears.

If he really was a wolverine he'd make an excellent mascot for the Edmonton Eootball Elub.
