I would guess Kassian got his bell rung in that fight. They were each throwing bombs and Gudbranson is a huge dude.

Need to follow up last nights game with another solid game. You are up Koskinen. Smith played sold, your turn.

I think he could have hurt his hand as well, he was inspecting it a bit after the tussle. Let's hope its nothing major.

Has Nygaard played Right Wing before? Chiasson just seems too slow for today's game.

Especially paired with Neal and Turris? That’s a sloooooow line.

Week to week makes me think broken bone or some other injury rather than concussion. With concussions it's always hard to know how long someone will be out, so they usually don't give long timelines like that. If he broke a bone in his hand, then it is 4-6 weeks assuming no surgery, which makes sense as week to week.

Just spitballing, of course.

Kassian likely hurt his shoulder in the scrap, Gudbranson is a load, probably 250 plus, trying to hold on to a guy that big as you're twisting, turning, falling, can pull out your shoulder he'll be out for a while, and when he gets back he'll have to be careful with it, leaves a hole in the line up.

Or. He goes the Klefbom route and that’s how we get that contract off the book! (I do like Kassian, when he’s going... just... not for the cap he has)

Hockey fights have devolved into wrestling matches, you avoid the knuckles to the skull, but shoulder injuries are much more common, credit to the reporter who called out Kassian to fight more, Kassian fights Ottawa's biggest guy in a the situation didn't even call for it, bravo buddy,.

Yes, but to be fair, he's pretty old and still stuck in the 1980s.

So glad we got the Win out of the way for this series. Team deserves a night off.

Also why did Archibald purposely miss that second emptynetter and rob McD of a McPoint?

No, they still need to win this one. The Sens need to be squeezed by the Oil for every point they can get, because every other team in the division are tougher opponents.

Exactly! Every point left on the table against the Sens by any team is a missed opportunity this year. Especially by losing teams like ours.

As long as they play poker in the dressing room, it's ok.

Have to say that I was happy with the way Smith played, and I sensed it gave the team some confidence in getting some regular stops, just the puck handling alone helped the D set up, putting the brakes on the opposition fore check, taking off some pressure on the D, and were able to get the puck out a lot cleaner, more often. One game, but a positive sign.

Khaira underwent some reflection on his future during his time on the taxi, figured out he has to play physical, finish checks .. its just that simple.. have no idea why a guy in his position would refuse to do it. That's 2 games where he figured it out, see if he has a good memory.

Ennis showed a lot of jam, another seeing his career flash before his eyes.. great finish on the snipe. Nice to have bottom 6 options to keep these guys motivated.

Kassian wasn't doing much offensively but he was always available as a deterrent when required, now all they really have is Nurse, and he's playing top D minutes.

loving Puljujarvi, that guy has really taken leaps and bounds forward (literally), his speed, his physical engagement, and his instinct to stop and start on pucks (instead of looping fly-bys) is a world away from where he was two years ago, great signs.. and he seems to be getting better every game as he realizes what his potential is. I really think the surgery he had on his hip joint has been a real benefit to his performance, I read about this condition, and it was an impingement on joint mobility, didn't allow full range, surgery increased it, can kind of see that in the way he skates now, long full strides, looks way smoother in all aspects of his skating..

Smith made some nice stops but it made me nervous how he parked in Gretzky's office behind the net toward the end of the game and nearly gave it away.
