Get home, Oilers score. Why do the announcers suck so bad?

K, nice goal and a hat-trick for McDavid. Is this the ever famous Jack Michaels announcing this? I never knew how good Rod Phillips was. I was fine with Kevin Quinn, I think it will take time to get used to this voice, accent and cadence.

If you are on the Island, it might be the Vancouver guys. Are you hearing Louie DeBrusk too?

I like Jack. He definitely seems to have toned it down a bit from his radio calls, but I still find him to be doing well.

Now we get Stauffer and Struds for intermission. This could go either way. Struds is a gem.

No Drew Remenda is creating an aura of acceptance for me still. Even that PBP guy last game, I was perfectly OK with it.

Might take a while to get over the positive vibes of no Remenda :)

McDavid 4.. Canucks 2.. Rest of Oilers (ROO) <Zero>

Khaira, Chaisson, Shore .. 4th line is a 5 on 5 black hole.. just get off the f'n ice..

Kassian, dopey, dopey, dopey.. brianless hockey out there.. but that penalty he took for "holding" was an absolute ghost call.. refs back to normal level of incompetence.

Kahun not showing much .. gifted a #2 line role and he's nothing special so far..

Archibald not showing much either.. he should drop down to the 4th line when Ennis is back.. out Ennis on the 3rd.. or ... move up Ennis to the #2 line, slot Kahun on the 3rd line.

That 4th line is a major liability..

and.. how many shots from the slot have guys passed off to a guy with a worse angle and not even gotten a chance off it.. just take. the freeking. shot. man!!

Also.. play the body! this isn't a practice!

Living out here in BC I have to listen to the Canucks broadcast crew, which includes Garrett .. Fk I hate the sound of that voice.. so in the 2nd period Garrett says "the Canucks have been especially disciplined when playing the Oilers last year.. Oilers only had two more powerplays than the Canucks l.." and the truth is the table is tilted against the Oilers when it comes penalty calling.. McDavid alone could get 5 powerplays a game on his own..

In defense of Kahun, played well last night (or so I read/heard) and got to camp late, I’ll give him a bit of a pass.

JP and Turris have been good. JP especially. Loving his game.

JJ is a good PKer. But it would be nice if he wasn’t such a 5v5 liability. Maybe he does better with different wingers, not named Chiasson.

Oilers with no pressure in the 3rd. Not sure why Tippett continues to try this when they get scored on and have to scramble to come back more games than not. Keep the pedal down!

Despite this, it is still nice to watch an Oilers game without being mad the ENTIRE time like I was last night. They need to play more games like this moving forward- a Jekyll and Hyde act (good game, bad game, good game, etc) will not work in a shortened season.

Night and day for the 1st line compared to last game. McDavid buzzing all over the ice and both wingers contributing to making plays. Would be wonderful if the 1st and 2nd line could look like this most nights.

Pulju looking better too. Hope the 3rd line can be something.

Night and day for the 1st line compared to last game. McDavid buzzing all over the ice and both wingers contributing to making plays. Would be wonderful if the 1st and 2nd line could look like this most nights.

Pulju looking better too. Hope the 3rd line can be something.

The PP looking like the one from last year is the reason they are winning this game- that last one looked good yet again even though it didn't score.

PP was deadly, but right back to 'Dump and not chase'. Canucks are getting to within at least one before this is over.

I shall do my best, my friend. But really, it should be Mike Smith who’s lauded for this one allowing Stuart to influence the room and give the boys something to play for. #DoItForSmitty

Yams needs to have more confidence doing things like that!

So now you get 10 minute misconducts if you shove after the whistle?

What’s happening with the pussification of this league ffs?
