EDMONTON, AB - The Edmonton Oilers have signed defenceman Filip Berglund to a two-year entry-level contract. Berglund will be loaned to Linköping HC (SHL) for the 2020-21 season.

Berglund, 22, has just completed his fourth season with the Swedish Hockey League's Skelleftea AIK, posting 20 points (5G, 15A), 16 penalty minutes and a +4 plus-minus rating in 52 games.

The 6'3", 206-pound blueliner has appeared in 200 career SHL games, registering 53 points (10G, 43A), 80 penalty minutes and a +20 plus-minus rating. He has also appeared in 31 playoff games, registering four assists, 12 penalty minutes and a +1 plus-minus rating.

A native of Skelleftea, SWE, Berglund was Edmonton's third-round draft pick, 91st overall, at the 2016 NHL Draft.

Done deal.

Holland will have every player that he can playing in Europe. It could take a long time for AHL President Scott Howson to get his AHL back to playing.
