My prediction if they play together - they will put together a highlight reel show all by themselves, and I will sit in a corner and cry while cursing Chia...

....the schedule in Denmark for World Championships...

http://2018.iihfworlds.com/en/games/

...Canada opens against USA and Germany faces host Denmark to start...back In 2016, Draisaitl was a big part of Germany qualifying for the Olympics and they did alright without him in South Korea....they could make things interesting WITH Drai in the lineup...

...5% chance the Oilers will get Dahlin?...you gotta believe....

2015/2016 - This Kool-Aid tastes like McDavid flavoured Drain-O.
2016/2017 - This Kool-Aid is starting to taste like juice.
2017/2018 - I'm drinking this Kool-Aid, in hopes that it's Drain-O.
2018/2019 - Another round of Drain-O, good sir!

I can't wait for them to add Hall. That'll be one dynamic offense.

Hall McDavid Barzal .... what a line that could have been.... we'd be in the Stanley Cup final.

Nah. They'd find some way to screw it up, but it is fun to image an extremely plausible top six of:

Hall McDavid Barzal
Eberle Drai Nuge

Oh well, pass me the red wine.

Holy smokes... did you have to?

I’d swap Nuge and Hall in that and holy schnitzel batman.

I literally go to bed thinking about those lines, anytime that I think of the Oilers one hour pre-slumber. It haunts my dreams.

I mean... jeez. Even had they not drafted Barzal with that pick, and not made the Hall or Eberle deals... that top 6 would still be just sick. Then Puljujarvi and Yamamoto on the farm waiting for their turn... Sigh.

Don't worry.. Pete's got a plan man ... yep'er

Don’t get me wrong, I may be Adam Larsson’s biggest fan, super glad he’s an Oiler.

Maybe Dubnyk will join as goalie after the jets knock them out.

Talbot didn’t have the best year, so perhaps he wasn’t even asked... but figured he’d be a player for that team. Mind you, rest and a break for him may be the best thing.

I was going to write this up in another thread, and I still might, but despite missing 2 weeks due to injury and the season being over by January basically, Talbot still played the most games in the NHL this year. Totally unnecessary.

Oilers Goal Differential
17/18: 234 GF / 263 GA (-29)
18/19: 232 GF / 274 GA (-42)
19/20 pace: 249 GF / 258 GA (-9) after 45 games

Very unnecessary. He played in 67 games, same amount as Connor Hellebuyck and played the 5th highest minutes. All while missing time with injury.

Now is this a byproduct of Chia not finding a suitable backup? I think Montoya is a capable backup for what it’s worth. Starting the year with LB as backup probably wasn’t the wisest decision. So, knock on Chia there.

Or is this MacLellan being stubborn and not wanting to turn away from his number 1 unless he absolutely has to? I don’t know the stats on San Jose number 1 starts under Todd. I’ll look it up later.

Or is it simply Cam believing he can play this much and telling Todd that he wants to start every game no matter what? We’ve heard Cam say he plays best when he plays often, I forget the direct quote but it was something along those lines.

I find myself pulling for T. Hall in the playoffs... but then kind of hoping NJ is out in 4 so Hall can play wing with McD in the WHC.. the way it was supposed to be ..until the Oiler masterminds intervened.

Hmmm......LTIR.. maybe Sekera should go to the worlds... ;)

After watching a few of these playoff games going on.. man there is speed to burn, throughout each line up.. Oilers roster is not up to par in the quickness department, although McD make sup for a quite a lot. We have too many that just can't keep pace, especially on D.
Benning, Sekera, even K-bomb, do not have the quickest of feet.

The lack of speed includes quite a few wingers as well, but its less dangerous than slow D.

However, the speed also needs to come with some size, skill, and the undeterred willingness to participate in a contact sport.

Saw him make the classic Oilers D play to deflect a puck in his own net in OT in the one game, but that's about the extent I've seen of him.
