Elliotte Friedman @FriedgeHNIC
Tyson Barrie and COL sign a four-year deal with a $5.5M AAV

And that is that. Arbitration avoided, and a pretty solid deal where I see no reason for the Avs to move him anymore.

Not sure if there is any good options left out there that won't require Chia making another offer someone can't refuse. Maybe take a chance with some PTO's on an older guy that might fill a 3rd pairing/PP specialist role.

Well at least that hopefully stymies one less stupid trade, maybe we keep RNH and Nurse for another season.

I guess the Oilers struck out again trying to get a QB for the powerplay and/or a point producing defenseman?

It's a glaring weakness back there. Despite moving Hall, I'm not convinced our blueline is fixed up enough to challenge for the playoffs (or move out of the basement of the Western Conference).

Maybe not Barrie, but the Oilers needed a Barrie-type and I don't see much more out there right now.
