If this is called back, it's a joke. THat's not goalie interference.
|
I'd have called it off. He contacted the goalie in the blue paint. It was pretty clear.

Geez, we all knew why Colorado was complaining and Sportsnet shows 14 replays of Nurse shooting so we can't see if the goalie was interfered with.

Avalanche feed was funny there. They went from "I don't see any interference" to "yeah, I really think he bumps his hand there...you can't keep him from getting his hand out!"

Maybe, just maybe, they now have a coach who is smarter than Koala-head about calling for reviews to go along with scoring legit goals.

It's nice to see the team responding each time the Avs have scored. How often did this happen under TMac before he got the can?

... I’m sure it happened once. Maybe. Actually. There isn’t a single time that comes to mind.

Hey, Benning, you're one of 4 healthy defensemen and you're punching a dude with a helmet on. Might have been smarter to just walk away. You need to stay healthy.
(I can't believe I'm worried about losing Benning.)

It's the power of Hitch. Someone should do a photoshop of that movie poster but with real Hitch's face over Will Smith's and Benning's face in the spot where Kevin James' would be. Hitch: the guru of defense.

Benning, nice fight there.
Only guy that doesn't look born again on this team so far is Spooner.
Hitch would have really liked Strome in the bottom 6, without a doubt.

Every time I see Chiasson on the ice I get Weight flashbacks. Could they not have just made a rule that nobody gets that number? It's not like there is huge demand for it.

The standards for getting a jersey number retired in Edmonton are a bit higher than for most other teams in the NHL thanks to a certain group of players from the '80's.

Ugh, Kosk's stats will suffer, but this is likely not happening if the Oil had all 6 D-men available....

Let me check....nope, no feelings for Doug Weight, who if I'm not mistaken started the tragic tradition of not playing in the deciding game of the 2006 Cup but putting full gear on to wheel around the Cup so it would appear he played. Never a fan after that series.

I thought Koskinen was actually good last night. He made a ton of big saves at critical times. Big win for the Oilers against a good team. Anytime the Oilers can score as many goals as they did and not have McDavid contribute to most of them, is a good thing. I am liking the fact that Nuge is starting to score a bit now. Leon has 37 pts in 31 games. If he is able to keep that up, that's a mid 90's pt season. Pretty impressive. Leon's backhanded, across the ice, right on the tape pass to McDavid was un-fing believable!!!
On the down side, losing Klefbom for a few weeks sucks big time. Unfortunately, if there is a dman who will get hurt it's going to be him.
