So long and thanks for the fish.
I think this means Nashville will part with Hamhuis now.
East of the Rockies and west of the rest.

have no idea what in the ****....
and to be honest, considering the age difference (although marginal as it is) between Tammy Gilbert and Grebz, I would've preferred to see the former get traded. Grebs would've been cheaper, has better upside and clearly the coaches see something in this guy of significance, one of Russia's top minute men playin in a shutdown role (as hilarious and probably flawed as it may be).

Don't think anyone is trading a 2nd rounder and no salary for Gilbert. I'm lukewarm on this deal because it sets the bar so low. Just last year we got POS and a 2nd rounder for Erik Cole.
This may well be a case though where management specifically did not want any roster players in return.

Wow. All they had todo was tell him to switch dressing rooms.
Mixed emotions to see him go. Showed some wicked play previously, but then reverted back to his usual turnover self.
Good luck Grebs as a Pred! Just not tomorrow.
For just a 2nd rounder? Part of me thinks the Preds won this trade hand down. The other part, probably makes sense for both.

Not bad getting a second for Grebs, thought he may have been used to spruce up a bigger deal though.

His entire career peaked and troughed in a two year window.
Oh well, one less replaceable RFA(or was he gonna be UFA this summer) to worry about.
Let the mess cleaning commence!

According to NHL numbers he is an RFA this year.

Yes and no SD - he was an RFA but unless the Oil (or Nashville) gives him the obligatory 10% raise on his already-overpaid $3.15M he becomes a UFA. RR I'm not sure if this is what you meant or not, but that's my assumption.

Let's hope we can use this 2nd and a couple other picks we may pick up to convince the Bruins to give us the Leafs pick :)

Having an iPhone... I do indeed need an app. But thanks for letting us know that while you're at work your trusty run of the mill flip phone will be allowing you to get up to the minute deals. At least you won't be in the dark.

Still hurting a little eh? Sorry - didn't mean to derail the thread. I'll give you a few more days before bringing up the glorious moment again.
As for 37 - I'm fine with it. If it meant having to sign him to $4M, I think we dodged a bullet.

this is a classic case of the Oilers saving themselves... from themselves!
To lose a player who made a mockery/travesty of his position? To know we don't have to watch this gongshow every second night now?
Legion? I'm without exception very kind and gracious with the so-called newbies, or rookies.
To me, it takes guts to come on the Big Time and express yourself. Ten years ago this fall I first started contributing on the 'net. I was nervous at first. I declared Sean Brown was a liability.
Look how far I've come! ; )

It's about Grebeshkov.
For some reason there are a couple bitter Ovechkin fans is all. Which is understandable, as Crosby continues to be a winner and Ovechkin continues to be a loser. If I was an Ovechkin fan, I might start trying to downplay yet another superior performance by Crosby as well.

Do you mean in the Stanley Cup where Crosby won, the Olympics where Crosby won, or the WJC where Crosby won?
Truth is good.
As a side note Crosby also got more points than Ovechkin in the Olympics.

Says the man from his house near that river in Egypt.
Facts are facts, every time it has mattered Crosby has come out on top.
I have no idea what individual performace you are referencing, but thats OK. Individual performances are usually forgettable when they are meaningless.

At least get your facts straight here, OIV!
The Sunday afternoon game a few weekends back? It was on NBC I think. OV led WSH to a thrill-a-minute victory over the out-classed Penguins.
You really should have this good information handy when appreciating the NHL's greatest player, OV.
http://capitals.nhl.com/club/recap.htm?id=2009020870
Quick little stat that illustrates how far removed OV is from his peers?
Check out if you can his point totals on the road versus home. It's unreal. An' then think also of his comments post-game from his performance in EDM.
Again though, this thread is supposed to be about #37. I apologize. Not insecure sweetheart apologists.
