Playoff hockey is so fun. Well, good playoff hockey is, this east is a bit of a snoozer this year. It's only game three and the intensity for fans is already way up.

I feel good about the Oilers tonight. If the Oilers were being outplayed every period and winning because their goalie is standing on his head, I'd be concerned.
They dominated game 1 and 3 out of 4 goals scored by the Kings were fluke. Game 2, the Kings played as well as they could, the Oilers didn't play well including their goal and they STILL took them to OT and had chances to win. ON top of the Kings got more bounces to score, a bounce on the game winner being 1.
The Kings have to have the Oilers play bad plus get bounces to have a chance to win. I just don't see them getting as many lucky bounces as they are continuing and I don't think the Oilers will play bad every game.

My hope is that one of Leon or Hyman went up to McD and told him how much they appreciate him trying to set them up, Hyman especially, but he needs to shoot more. He had 1 shot last game and watching the game, he had many chances in good spots to shoot and chose to try to get the puck to Leon or Hyman.
The Kings clearly were making it their mission to key on McD. They would try to surround him. I expect him to pass, if me, casual fan and huge Oilers fans expect McD to pass, I am sure the Kings do. He needs to become more of a shooting threat. When he has Leon or Hyman back door and everyone thinks he will try to force a puck to them, let it rip. Put shot into the minds of the Kings so they have to make a choice. He scored 64 last year, he's a good shooter. He's got 6 assists which is great but ne needs to score some goals.

Oilers win all day if they support own zone, are aware of the transition, and get a couple more saves.
The Oilers transition off of good defending on their own part can kill the Kings, they should know that. The team turned it around by defending and limiting the opponents earlier in the season, and that would translate to playoffs. You just can't have lazy plays in the defensive breakout, and you have to watch the breaks and odd man chances on entries on the cycle that always kill the Oilers.
The first period tonight is most critical, take that lousy building out of the equation, defend and administer a proper beatdown.
