You can't deny that Leon looks like he's skating in mud though. He was decently fast in the past, but he's glacial most of the time now.

Connor Brown is a compelling story.
Not sure why he's working on edgework... he can skate just fine. Positionally he's fine as well. He needs to work on his acceleration as he has no boost to take advantage of holes in the D.

Scoring in the NHL is hard. Many players go through prolonged slumps. Agitating doesn’t require much skill. Running a goalie doesn’t take much skill. Laying a good body check requires good timing, but achievable every game. But he is SO CONTENT to just put in his shifts, collecting his cheques and hope something good happens. I know it sounds harsh, but he should be ashamed. Show some frigging pride dude. Show the world you have a conscience.
Sam is up there eating popcorn and always seems to produce on limited opportunity. And in the past when Sam struggled, he would drop the flippers. Not Connor Brown though.
I’m hoping Comfy Connor gets his dumb goal today and then they sit him the rest of the season.

Realistically, the Oilers are not a great defensive team. I know the stats might suggest otherwise, but the eye test suggests that they leak chances all game.
3rd period pressure on Leon's line... my god, can Leon just skate a little? Everyone else is trying to play good defensive hockey, but they have to make up for Leon who reaches and reaches and then just skates to the boards and just watches the play unfold.
Four posts for the Sabres in this game. The Oil are leaking chances.
McDavid can't finish anymore. A breakaway for that guy should be automatic, but he's finishing with Marchant-like frequency.
I wish I had more reasons to be optimistic about the Oilers. I really do. They just don't look like they are a well-oiled machine.
