Gonna be a tough one, but a win tonight and some favorable results elsewhere could put the Oilers in a tie for the last playoff spot.

Are they not still 6 points back of a wildcard tie?

Seven now, but who's counting?

However, if you assume we win all our games in hand, I guess you could get there?

Counting as if everything will work out perfectly? Sounds like the Oilers management way of thinking!

Way easier to be a shameless apologist for Holland if you try to imagine us winning all our games before we play them!

Or, if you read the standings like an educated human being and account for a differential in games played (like baseball does), you could see that Nashville, Minnesota, and St Louis losses combined with an Oiler win would have put them all at .500 +2.

You can read the standing however you want but this isn't baseball and that isnt how the standings work in the NHL.
But you do you, I will keep using normal mathamatics.

Regarding your earlier attempt at a chirp I am educated, but that isn't surprising as you are usually incorrect in your posts. That said, I have no problem admitting when I am wrong or am simply confused.

What are you showing me here? It seems to be standard NHL standings with teams ranked by total points without regards for games played.
