Acustomed as I am, lately, to the OIL doing nothing or worse in the 3rd period... this 3rd and win was a pleasant surprise. ...made possible by 97 making his own luck and getting a rare OIL bounce with his first goal.

...this time, it's for real (isn't it?).

Not a great first 2 periods. I thought the first 2 goals, the first especially were stinkers. They got the win. I am at the point I don't care how they play, just win. How a team plays a game, has lost some meaning to me. I have seen way too many games over the years where the Oilers were supposedly the better team, all the numbers said they should have won but they got goalied or something weird happened or you name it. A team can dominated the game from the first drop of the puck or play a stinker and win but they all count the exact same.

The mental lapses in this game was so very evident. Just very uninspired hockey. McDavid spin move was pretty sweet and so was the win.

That said... it's those areas of mental toughness which could have very easily gone the other way.

The very definition of insanity is doing the exact same thing expecting different results.

Generally Disappointed.

Even though I didn't watch much, gotta say, we have been watching the top 3 in our division move away from us. Flyers played and won yesterday which almost always causes a lull in effort for teams, sure as heck does for us. We should have been all over them, but we just felt our way into the game, barely created chances through 2 periods, and needed PP to keep us in it to finally pounce in the 3rd.

Win is a win for sure, but still expect better. Game could have easily been a loss with a little bad luck.
