Great news!

K. Gretzky was on Stauffer today talking about injured players.. says Samorukov WILL NOT NEED SURGERY.. 👍🏻
Injury was not as bad as first indicated.. ahead of schedule in recovery.. said he might be back to play this year if the Condors go through a round or two of playoffs..

Said Nemo almost ready, should be ready for playoffs.. same with Holloway.

Confirmed Lavoie is out for year.. LBI.

The fact Samorukov doesn't need surgery is good but him injuring both shoulders a year apart is concerning to me. Sounds similar to Klefbom. He had shoulder issues before he was a full time Oiler and it followed him along to where he's probably done in the NHL and he was done at 27.

None surgery is better than surgery, I think KBomb had surgery early, in Sweden, before he even came over to North America.. never the same..

Apparently Hollow-point played last game.. reports were he was a force.. lots of shots.. just the 1 assist.. if he has a good run in the AHL playoffs.. and the Oil last a few rounds.. might see him up, if even its just to be with the team and have the NHL playoff experience.

Short interview with Holloway post game vs. Abbotsford.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LwXoiHh9wEM

AHL playoffs are a bit weird. First round is best of 3 and the Condors are up against Abbotsford, who I'm sure will have reinforcements from Vancouver. The three games will be played in Bakersfield, but Abbotsford will be designated the home team for games 2 & 3. Abbotsford and Bakersfield ended the season with the same number of points, so I'm not sure why all the playoff games are in Bakersfield. (Arena availability?)

Bakersfield sweeps Abbotsford.

Some post-game interviews. Most of these guys will never see the NHL again. but the veterans on the Condors sure have great attitudes and work ethics. Should have positive influences on the younger guys who have a chance at making The Show.

It will be a good experience for them if they get a chance to play in the playoffs against Stockton. That series will separate the men from the boys and the possiblies from the never-will-bes.

Condors season over.. lost 3 straight to Stockton.
Holloway gets 2G + 1A in 6-4, game 3 loss.

If Oil get into round II expect Holloway, Nemo, Broberg, Perlini, Skinner, among Black Aces call ups.. Maybe Griffiths.. Malone.. Hamblin?

Rumour (well, i think more than that) is the Flames are relocating their AHL team closer to home for next year and AHL will have to look at division alignment, I wonder if the Oilers will use this to move their AHL team closer?
