The Oilers hold a two point (and two game) cushion over the Knights and six points (2 games) over the Canucks. Barring a total collapse, they should be good to make the playoffs. There's still a long way to go, but I have a hard time seeing Vegas and Dallas or Winnipeg or Vancouver passing them.
SO! Let's see how they stack up against the best in the west.

I think it's the right call if they go with Smith. I said it a few days ago, play your starter in the games you have the most likely chance of winning plus play your starter in the game you need to win which is against Dallas.
