Man that's just stupid if true. Yamo needs to get off the top 6 today. Having Kane allows that.
56 constantly gets erased, and has zero finish, wasting too many grade A's from Leon.
And I think I'd keep Sceviour over Ryan or Shore.

Once Holloway makes it up, the Nuge at C idea might actually happen. He plays well at C.

I just hope that's some of Stauffer's BS leaking out.

I do not agree with Stauffers lines just because I don't think the Nuge - Leon - Yamo line works. Those 3 had a good 26 games 2 yrs ago, after that not a lot of success and I don't think they would work in the playoffs.
I'd have these lines.

Kane-McDavid-Yamo
Hyman- Draisaitl-JP
Foegele-Nuge-Kassian
Shore/Sceviour-McLeod-Ryan

I think they will had another bigger bottom 6 forward that would bump out one of Shore/Sceviour, Ryan.

Maybe it's wishful thinking but I think adding a guy like Kane will spark Kassian. Kane is big, mean, physical and tough player so having another guy like that often makes it easier to do it. Not making excuses but sometimes being the lone guy on the team that does that, can be hard.

That, to me, looks to be about as bad of a deployment as one could come up with.

Balance the top 3 lines, 4th line, whatever. That second line hasn't looked good in a couple of years. But even if it did, that 3rd line could get more of a boost than the drop off moving a better player down there.

Fully agree. Dumb call sacrificing him, hope he doesn’t get claimed as other than Benson he’s been the one in the bottom 6 who’s been willing to consistently throw his weight around AND stick up for his teammates that we’ve seen.

Would rather see him than Shore, Ryan or Kassian in the lineup.

Turris was already waived to the taxi squad so that wasn't an option, but Shore and Ryan haven't done a lot other than rack up minuses this year, and Kassian would be a blessing to have claimed and free up that cap space. I wouldn't have exposed Sceviour with those others as options.

I have to say I thought Sceviour has been far more effective than either Ryan or Shore.. I would've selected Ryan, he's got another year at 1.25M, Shore is only 850K for another year, and Sceviour is only 750K for this year, the guy you don't mind losing to waivers is Ryan IMO. Only thing Ryan has going for him is FO's

I don't mind those line suggestions. I might swap Hyman and Foegele just because he doesn't have as much finish as Hyman but adding Kane really improves things. I think they could use a bigger, physical winger to add into the bottom 6. An upgrade on Shore or Ryan.

We will see if this jagoff lasts the year. That being said, a rehabilitated Kane would work well on the McDavid line. There would be fewer players taking liberties with Connor that's for sure. He would be like a 40 point Semenko.
