The Condors will be one of 28 teams to participate in the AHL season.

https://theahl.com/28-teams-participate-2020-21-season

Eight teams in the Pqcific Division. Speculation on my part, but I suspect Bakersfield will play the other 7 teams only maybe a few games against Henderson and Colorado, most against the other California teams.

I had no idea the Golden Knights' affiliate was called the Silver Knights. That's pretty awesome.

Ottawa, Winnipeg, Montreal, and Toronto have a big advantage over the Edmonton this year. The Oilers should have worked with the Canucks to put a temporary split team in Ontario to really screw over the Flames.

This is fine.

A blog entry from Condors radio voice Ryan Holt.

https://www.bakersfieldcondors.com/news/holtys-blog-and-away -we-go/

Pre season game today vs. San Diego Gulls (Anaheim). Holt is usually working alone, and is pretty good.

Hasn't been any talk about Bakersfield, but it's been quite the season down there.

After dropping their first five games, the Condors then went on a nine game winning streak. They're now 10-6, good for second place in the Pacific division.

They've also got the top 3 scorers in the league in Marody, Benson, and McLeod:

https://twitter.com/oilersaccess/status/1373432519362715650

So the top two scorers in the NHL and top three in the AHL are all Oilers. Also the Oilers and Condors both lead their leagues in total goals.

Not Bad!

I want to be ecited, but a few experts I follow claim to take big production jumps from 2yr+ Pros/B prospects with a grain of salt. For the most part the Top tier prospects are on the taxi squad, thus creating a exaggerated stats.

The win streak and point production should tell us that these guys are either close or career top end AHL'ers. I want to be excited.

One side benefit of the new cross border quarantine period for NHL teams moving players from US to Canadian teams (7 days), is that the call up period for the Condors will be reduced as well, might see some guys like McLeod, Marody, Benson coming up .. or at least a better chance of..

And now there are Covid issues and postponements for Bakersfield.

https://theahl.com/condors-eagles-games-postponed

The more positive note is that Tyler Benson and Cooper Marody were named co-winners of AHL Player of the Month.

The AHL will not award the Calder Cup in 20-21. Only the Pacific division will have a playoff of any kind.

https://www.nhl.com/news/ahl-notebook-bouchard-of-laval-amon g-coaches-who-could-be-hired-in-nhl/c-324147590

"he Calder Cup Playoffs will not be held due to concerns surrounding COVID-19.

The AHL has allowed the five divisions to conduct its own postseason formats. The Pacific Division will have a tournament to determine the division champion. The Atlantic, North, Canadian and Central division will award its division championship to the team that finishes with the best points percentage at the end of the regular season."

Unfortunate to hear that its our division that's conducting the playoff - would have been nice to bring some players back to Edmonton sooner...

Apparently our AHL team is good at winning in OT. Just won their 3rd OT game in a row. 3 games, 3 OT wins. They are the anti-Oilers.

Winning starts at this level. It was a huge missing piece for this franchise for years. This kids are having a couple years now of being in high stakes games at the AHL level - it goes with you to the big leagues.

I wonder when they lose Woodcroft to the NHL? From what I've seen, he's been pretty competent down there. Will he get a HC job in the show this summer?
