Matthews is questionable around security guards, and to play tonight.

Lots of talk about how Matthews actually would be scoring 2 goals/game this season if not for his debilitating wrist injury he's been bravely playing through like a legend. And then suddenly he's actually out. Likely only actually got hurt recently. Oh well.

Could you imagine if he played with an elite passer like Leon? Or got to play on a powerplay unit with the likes of Nuggy and Chiasson? Man. Such wasted talent playing with Marner, Tavares, Reilly and Nylander.

I liked how last summer Matthew’s got the Covid and everyone was like “yeah that makes sense”.

Sounds like the Leafs will be starting Jack Campbell, who returns from a leg injury but has gone 2-0-0 with a 2.0 GAA and .923 sv% this season.

I think the Oilers lost against the Leafs this season when Matthews has been out.

Moral of my post - it’s a must win.

I believe the media consensus is that McDavid takes Matthew's lead on how hard to play. So makes sense no Matthews makes us more likely to lose.

Man, that was so hilarious.. the media clowns (like Hrudey) actually trying to imply that McDavid's last 5 pt excursion was "inspired" somehow by what Matthews was doing.. Last media avail I listened to, some guy actually asked McD the question.. and McD responded "hmmm.. I would say.. I guess NO .. I'm motivated every night.. I want to be the best I can be each and every single night... I'm a pretty motivated guy (have you seen his recovery video buddy?), that's not an issue I have each and every single night.."

At 1:40 guy from Toronto Star beaks off..
