It seems like Yamamoto gives a very consistent effort every night.

It’s too bad he seemingly is the only one with that compete level.

When is Kassian going to see the pressbox for a nice five-game stint? He'd provide more value warming that seat.

Puljujarvi did more with his two shifts on the top line than Kass has through the beginning of this season. The guy is so disappointing... he shows his appreciation to the organization that gave him his last chance and helped him reclaim his career, by doing absolutely nothing out there. No jam, nothing.

It would sure be nice if the rest of the team followed his example. This is becoming very tiresome....

Puljujarvi did more in 2(3?) shifts with McHopkins than Kass has in 4 games. You gotta go to that line to start next game.

Aside from that... when will we start hearing about the top prospects for this coming draft?

PP still doesn't have a QB...

If Tippett doesn't want to use BEAR, put in BOUCHARD... why not?

Berry has been underwhelming...

Also. Despite my comments in the other thread re: Bouchard, I think it’s time to see him in for Larson. Screw the optics.

Agreed. Larsson also needs to see the pressbox for a nice stretch of games. Put in Lagesson, at the very least. If you want to inject some real offense, give Bouchard a chance.

Nurse has all the tools.

If he didn’t have a brain the size of a hummingbirds, he would be a Norris candidate.

Nurse has all the tools.

If he didn’t have a brain the size of a hummingbirds, he would be a Norris candidate.

I think you’re doing hummingbirds dirty here. They may be small but they’re incredible smart.

He’s the king sloth on this team.

I regret my original post as it’s a bit harsh. He doesn’t really have all the tools be a Norris.

But he always leaves me wanting more. He’s progressing at a snails pace the past few years.

Saw some fancies on JP from tonight’s game;

Scoring chances: 8-1
High danger chances: 2-0
XGF%: 92%
CF% 70%
CF Rel% 25%
16SF, 4SA

Inject the Fin onto Connor’s line and leave him there.

Brutal loss. Instead of 3-3, 2-4 to a hapless Leaf team.
RNH looks disinterested, no drive.
Get Nuge off the PP, put in Yamo-motor, JP instead of Neil

I've had enough of Turris.

Bear looking weak out there.. again.

Koskinen didn't even play bad..

JP is getting better every game.. he's starting to realize how big he is and using it, he'll be moving up the lineup before too long.

You know, I didn’t even think about a Nuge-Yam swap on the pp. I like it. I like Neal there tho, I don’t think I’d yank him. Yet.

The way the season is going so far, Nuge won’t be getting close to 7. Pretty meh for a contract year.

Also, Kass. I heard his first period was great, I only caught about 5 minutes of that period. But holy heck man. At this point, I’m hoping Seattle is dumb enough to take him in the expansion draft, which could help them hit the cap floor.

I think JP is as good as Neil/Chaisson options, bigger body, way more mobile, and can cycle the puck. Using Chaisson or Neil puts you down one puck carrier on the PP, neither can carry the puck in the O-zone, and they don't, then the PK just needs to cover 4 guys, with JP you add another puck carrier, more options, harder to defend.

I get what you’re saying, there is merit to it. I just like Neal in that net role better as he can handle the puck in close and sweep up the trash. Haven’t quite seen that from Jesse, yet. 97, 29, 93 or 22 can carry the puck and he can just go to the office.

Add: It was also Neal’s first game, after a battle with Covid and NO preseason. I think Neal did just fine tonight all things considering. Had a better game than I’ve seen Chiasson play this year too.

I would have no problem plunking Yamamoto with 97 for an extended period. Not just a game or two. An extended period.

He is crafty and tenacious.

JP is lightyears better than Neal or Chase. Have you watched him play lately?

The guy is a lit stick of dynamite; when the puck starts going in for him, I think some confidence will open the floodgates. I think we're on the verge of seeing the Pulju that we all thought we might see after he was drafted.

JP is on the verge of breaking through, like Yamo did. Just needs a few to go in.

I'm not going to rag on Nuge for tonight, his season hasn't been the best though, on and off. He's getting shots and chances. His play enabled the McDavid tip. I could see Kass and Larsson hit the PB. Kass is a high paid 4th liner this year. Larsson isn't shutting much down.

10% of the season is gone boys. Its to the point where you need 4 points in Wpg.

Yamo might be our best overall player so far this year. Such an engine for this team.

Drai has been stellar, Connor just isn't really getting the breaks yet... and JP looks like a beast waiting to be unleashed... but Yamo... that guy is unreal.

I can't believe they're not doing it again. Don't they need to provide extra nights of television for their network partners? I think the Oilers can be top 6 in the Canadian division.
