I'm looking for a needle in a haystack: a white 96-97 jersey. Those are the ones with the blue shoulders and the oilman logo on it.

http://www.nhluniforms.com/Oilers/Images/Oilers12.png

This is the last jersey variation I need to complete my collection. So far, any searches online are only turning up jerseys that were already sold via auctions in the past. If anyone has any leads on one of these, I would greatly appreciate it.

Cheers!

Given that I don't have any geographic ties to Edmonton, why I'm still cheering for this franchise baffles me sometimes.

Ah man, I thought I could help you. But mine must be a different year as it doesn't have the blue shoulder crest (it's also Pro-Player brand??) I don't even remember where I got it from tbh.

Thanks.

Thought I found another today, but it was posted for sale in November 2018. Boo.

Which Semenov? Alexei wasn't so great, but I have a crested Anatoli Semenov jersey from the early 1990s, which is still pretty awesome. One of the best #19s the team ever had!

Thanks for the help, but that's not the one.

The one I'm looking for has the Blue shoulders, with the oilman patch. They only wore it for 1 season.

Although that was from a closed auction from years ago - so it doesn't help you.

It was a sharp jersey.

That's the one! I'm not picky if it has a name/number on it already or if it's a blank. If you see another, I'd appreciate the heads up.

You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you just might find, you can get a lottery pick.

Negative. That's the dark jersey they wore from 1996-2006 (approximately). They had similar white jerseys from 1997-2006(ish), but for a single season they had white with blue shoulders.

The oilman home whites with the blue yoke was my least favorite Oilers jersey until the pajama jerseys came in. I think the all-whites that replaced them were fantastic AND superior to the current white jersey.

This is fine.

If I stumble upon a M/L I'll let you know. I'm looking for an XL myself.

Hey I appreciate you notifying me about the medium jersey a while back.
I got it and your suspicions were right, the medium is more like a small so you’re right in trying to look for an XL.

I still keep my eyes out and will let you know!

Must've been the day to post them. There was another one posted on facebook marketplace. Dude was swamped with requests. I offered him $40 above asking price and didn't get it. He said he had 10 offers on it in the first few hours. Suspect he might be re-listing it on ebay later.

I hope you get one. The thread referenced above was mine from a couple years ago, and I was able to find a replica on eBay for $50. The collar isn't quite right (the blue part of the collar is the same size as the copper and red) but spending $50 instead of $300 worked for me.

There's a size 54 Arnott jersey on Facebook marketplace now in Edmonton.

I'd already have it snatched up, but it breaks all the rules of my collection. (Too big; already have an Arnott; already have a white #7, and getting something stripped and re-branded would double the price.)

Edit: I'm an idiot. The size wasn't too big. And my other white #7 is an Arnott. I could've just sold that one. D'oh! stupid

Thanks to those that gave me a heads up on some options. I finally got what I was looking for. (Next to have it converted to a #2 Mironov.) Now, I have a full Oilers collection with the exception of the versions they wore in the first two seasons. I can't imagine those are easy to find.

Out of curiosity were you able to get one with the collar with the right size with the colours, or is the blue part of the collar more narrow? And were you able to get a replica or an authentic?

It's a replica. Not sure about the collar part. It's in the mail currently, but I'm not super picky. After years of looking, it's close enough in my eyes.

I had picked up a medium along the way, hoping to pull off a size trade. I almost had an authentic on a swap, but the deal fell through when the guy realized how good of a jersey he had. The one I was trading was only a replica.

If anyone is currently looking for one, there is an authentic XL up on EBay right now. It's not cheap though: $350.

I can definitely relate to that. When looking for a jersey this hard to find you have to take what you can get.
